Dax was born in 2018.
The future seemed so far away back then
My non trill ass immediately though, but Jadzia isn’t that old!

Star Trek promised us Irish unification two years ago, so I’m not holding my breath
they promised us lot of stuff…

I guess this needs to happen for WW3 to start. Clearly.
Seeing how all bexit negotioations revolved around ireland, why yes I think it is totally plausible that WW3 is started by some northern irish fisherman fishing a few kilometers too far south.
Ah yes, the great Pollock aggression of 2026. 🎣⚠️☢️
Are you implying that fiction written way in the past cannot accurately predict current events? What’s next, no flying cars and public use hoverboards in 2015 (alright, they were actually pretty accurate with millionaire Biff Tannen)?
If I recall correctly… Star Trek said … 2010, right? … I probably don’t recall correctly.
We already missed the Bell riots.
But we do (did) already have “Sanctuary Cities”
did we?
I see a bunch of warehouses burning…
maybe we’re going to speed run everything in a few months until we get to WW3.
People here are talking like WW3 didn’t already start. How long after Franz Ferdinand was shot did people decide that was the start of WW1/The Great War?
There are, on average, over four warehouse fires per day in the US. The recent coverage is just media stickiness, similar to the coverage of train derailments a few years ago.
You got a source for that? That seems like a crazy number
Industry group recorded 1544 warehouse fires per year between 2020 and 2024. [https://www.nfpa.org/education-and-research/research/nfpa-research/fire-statistical-reports/warehouse-structure-fires]
DOE number is slightly lower at 1477 per year over the same period.
Looking at figure 4, what the hell is happening in March?
Also, thanks for sending over the source
the ones in 1974?
The face you make when you learn trek lore predicts WW3 starts in 2026

Stop the world, I wanna get off.
The Simpsons is the real prognosticator of the modern world.
For any non-trekkies still living in New Zealand…you may wish to relocate.
That’s when you learn we’re not in the Star Trek timeline, we’re in the Gundam timeline.
And on the 250th bday of the US.
Waittt really?
I love how all the explosions are timed to the percussion. Did Michael Bay direct this music video?
The drummer is just on point 😉
On the plus side, the Vulcans then notice us and introduce themselves a couple of decades after the war ends.
C’mon ya green-blooded freaks! Do it early!
C’mon ya green-blooded freaks!

green-blooded
Dude, spoilers!
And here’s how we’ll be responding in this universe:

Over 600 million dead!
it’s only 7% of earth current population. That’s not bad right?
WW2 killed about 3% of the world’s population.
The ratio of wounded to dead is around 4 to 1.
Most people who die in wars are civilians. Especially if WW3 goes nuclear, that would probably be most of them. However that is basically just nuking all major cities in China or so.
I could easily see nukes being dropped on the US, albeit they’d mysteriously only target Blue states and historically Blue cities.
There’s only like 5 red cities and they all have fewer than a million residents. So the blue city moniker basically just means large city
Does this include PTSD?
How about stubbing your toe?
No
Sooo 35% wounded or killed
The Eugenics War and the 2nd American Civil War were supposed to preceded WWIII. When the Bell Riots didn’t happen we changed the timeline.
Meh, Ireland is supposed to be reunited by now.
I blame the temporal war.
Clearly Irish unification leads to Star Trek timeline equally as much as the forever war, and was easier to prevent.
Next year, I think.
Unfortunately:

Aha. My bad.
But we missed the bell riots. We aren’t in the federation universe. We’re likely in the Teran universe.
One miiiiight argue that 2020 BLM protests count? In a way? Too early, granted.
A lot of sanctuary districts stuff going around then too, or whatever it was called.
Maybe everything that was supposed to happen in the Star Trek universe up to this point is all going happen all at once on December 31, 2026
TIHI
Would not surprise me even a little bit.
I always think we are cursed to be emotional creatures, who need to vent our deepest darkest urges so that we could emerge better than before. A lot of scholars think even if a major catastrophe happens in our lifetime, a new and better system usually emerges, just as it happened in history. The problem is, and I always say this, it will become worse before it gets better.
Good job we can sublimate to even better than Star Trek.
As long as everyone is 100% instantly vaporized I’m cool with it. It’d suck if anyone had to suffer the aftermath.
If it starts in 2026 and goes on until 2053, then the one thing that can’t happen is that everyone is 100% instantly vaporized.
Honestly, being in the Star Trek timeline would be worth it to die horribly. I don’t even care at this point.
i’m ok if the owning class suffers in the aftermath. maybe everyone gets one of those worms that crawls up your pee hole but all it does is hang out there and itches and complains about how tiny its new dick home is.
