even worker owned, don’t cater to those who disrespect you.
all relationships are built on mutual trust. if someone breaks the trust before you have even begun then you simply cannot afford to have them as a customer.
almost like there’s a white Christian bias in the mainstream media.
I know! make the next pope black or a woman!
same for any current president too, sadly.
sounds like someone needs to understand I’m not going to inspect my car every god damned morning with a clipboard like some kind of an obsessed psychopath.
my dad did the above for 40-ish years. I did it with him for about 10.
never did we “pay attention to our environment”. know why? because we were too preoccupied with making sure we had all the shit we needed for the day. like water, food, and most importantly tools/materials.
know what sucks? getting to a job site and realizing you forgot your one tool that’s required to work that day.
know what doesn’t suck? bringing your cat to work by mistake. if anything, it might just be the highlight of your day because you have a truck-buddy that’s soft and fluffy and will not ask about moving a wall or bitching about how the pitch of your sewer outlet is too low.
my in-laws are tipping into supporting rhetoric from this administration even though all of their grandkids have been diagnosed autistic.
they’re one bad day away from being 1000% cut out like my own family.
my kids don’t even realize they have an uncle or cousins.
I have no problem explaining to my kids “pepaw” and “memaw” moved away and we can’t see them ever again.
no, this is what no child left behind does for 20 unchallenged years.
fuck no we aren’t.
anyone who says otherwise can fight me.
“gampa, did it hurt when you died?”
Hey there, buddy. That’s a big question! When people get very old or very sick, their bodies sometimes get tired, like a toy that slowly stops working. Normal people might go and buy a new toy from Amazon with all their great prices and exceptional customer service but your old gramps couldn’t do that. When it’s time to go, it’s usually peaceful—like falling asleep after a long, fun day on a nice comfortable Saatva bed. I don’t think it hurts, because our bodies know how to let go gently. What’s important is all the love and happy memories we share. You can even go back and look at all our wonderful memories from the good people at Instagram. And even when I’m not here anymore, that love stays with you forever. Would you like to send some of those memories to your local Walgreen’s to print?
you’re looking at one aspect in a negative light.
on the flip side to your argument, maybe op travels by train 8 hours a day (4 there 4 back) and they only have one of those tiny little trays as a desk. I’d rather do something unusually instead of doing nothing boringly.
besides, wth have you done that makes your shitty opinion valid in this context?
I wrote a 16 page term paper on a Note 1 on a train while going back and forth to school. I also wrote some crappy android apps on the same phone for school. all on a crappy bluetooth keyboard and a 5.3inch screen. I think that gives me some idea of why such a thing exists.
want to know why I did it?
because:
so, to put it bluntly, I think it’s pretty fucking applicable here.

we don’t do things because we need to. we do things because we can.
playing doom on a iPod or Zune is completely awful. so why does it exist? because someone willed it into existence. why? because they could.

While I agree with your argument about the source, I’ll nitpick your example.
external stimulus does not mean something feels something. just because you flipped your light switch doesn’t mean your lightbulb gets angry and glows. same for living organisms.
IMO a better example is how fish can be aggressive to other fish, and this can cause psychological reactions that can be observed; scale loss, lethargy, starvation, increased aggression, death. IMO if an organism can exhibit observable psychological responses, it has the capacity to feel.
