I mean, Helldivers 2 taught me to at least go prone when explosive damage is expected. But maybe they thought "Either this hits me and I'm dead, or I get a great shot!"
I've always loved the beginning of a Civ game, but kinda hated how bogged down the middle and late game get. So if this gives the feeling of early civ games, I'll probably love it.
Partly because newly released games are buggy and unfinished and they can take a while before they're stable and quality of life features fully in place.
I don't want to pay to be a beta tester, and I especially don't want to pay full price for that. I can wait a bit and get a better game for cheaper.
I've only bought a couple of games on early release or at release lately. Deep Rock Galactic Survivor because it had a demo I enjoyed, and Hades 2 because I trust that studio and Hades is one of my favourite games.
Similarly, The Wolf Among US was a pretty fun story. Could have gone without the quick time events though, but I really enjoyed the Fairy Tale characters on the big city environment.
A Dodge Colt with a horrible manual transmission. Years later I bought a Veloster with manual transmission because shifting was so incredibly smooth compared to what I trained on, and I learned that manual can be pretty fun. I have an automatic now but often use the manual shifter to downshift when going down steep hills or sometimes just to use my brakes less when approaching a red light.
