The YouTuber Blake Jennings did a breakdown/takedown of Ben Shapiro’s “Lady Ballers” movie, and a recurring theme throughout it was that when it wasn’t making fun of trans women, it was making fun of cisgender women. Not just depicting them as weaker, but fundamentally incompetent. Like, showing cisgender female athletes in their chosen sport not even knowing how to properly use the equipment of said sport. So yeah, the transmisogyny is just cover for misogyny at large.

i sort of agree, but i think it is still essential to push back against the arguments that men and women are drastically different physically (oppositional sexism). there is more physical parity than mainstream media/society admits. all segregation / oppression bases itself on assumptions of (bio essentialist) physical disparities.
all seems pretty strong there. sometimes it’s to avoid embarrassing the men, like target shooting. sometimes women punt or kick in college football but there’s a robust soccer system that siphons off the ones who might be interested and there are plenty of social reasons that you don’t want to be the only woman on a sports team. what’s your vision for desegregated basketball?

Imagine if we applied “men are shitty so the solution is to separate men and women, not to get men to be less shitty” to places outside sports and the military. Workplaces are segregated by gender again cuz men cant behave. All schools are single gender cuz boys cant behave. All hobbies are segregated. Do u see why thats a bad idea?
