    Trans Megathread from January 19th, 2025 to January 25th, 2026

  • Voice dysphoria has also been bothering me lately and I'm trying to figure out what to do about it. I've followed youtube videos and the TA voice lessons in the past but that's definitely not enough. I'm wondering what else I can do about it and looking at online course or whatever other strategies I can find. I might need to just find a coach and try to get over some of the hurdles I have that way, but it seems scary.

    If anyone reading has good advice on this I'd love to hear it.

    EDIT: A long time ago I pickup up Monster Prom on Steam and told myself I was gonna use it as a fun way to practice voice by reading the dialog out loud. Maybe I should actually try doing that this weekend.

  • Im in Australia. Literally they dont. it pretty much just applies to facebook, instagram, tiktok etc, and kids have easily bypassed the half arsed efforts for age restrictions anyway.

    Those platforms censor pro-Palestine content anyways. So if this pushes people off of pro-Israel, for-profit platforms, that seems… Like a good thing? Even if unintentional.

    Edit: They didn't even ban fucking 4Chan or Roblox, literally two of the worst platforms for kids to be interacting with the worst people.

    Yeah that’s pretty absurd to say it’s for protecting kids and leave those alone.

  • What's the best way to do netplay for emulated games?

  • Yeah I might still try to get it working for fighting games, but honestly I'm looking more for fun then competitive play. Just installed RetroBat and love it so far (it's basically emulation station but still), so might focus a little more on getting netplay working through that. Once I get it figured out, I'd love to find people on Matrix to play some of these games with, and most of the roms would be small enough to just uploaded and shared through a chatroom.

  • I actually tried fightcade earlier and I love how easy it is to set up. I installed some json files that auto download games you want to play. Only problem is... I can't connect to anyone else. Might be a port forwarding issue and I'll have to tinker with it tomorrow.

    EDIT: One downside of Fightcade though is that it's only 1v1. So, if you want to play 3-6 player beatemups or whatever else that's more than 2 players, it won't work. Does seem ideal for fighting games though.
