  • I don't think that's news to Lussy. If I understand correctly, his point is that the average American at the moment is a bit more separated from direct overt violence than the average "Israeli" and so he felt the statement might be unintentionally minimizing the level of violence personally committed by proportionally more "Israelis". As he says, he's not trying to say that Americans are "better".

    Both are settler colonies, they (of course) were built and are sustained in similar ways.

  • I agree with you that the average "Israeli" is closer to overt violence and more likely to have personally committed it, but I also think that the fundamental (settler) mindsets/material interests of both are very similar (which if I understand your points correctly, you aren't disagreeing with).
