This is all just prep for the debate. Trump can now say he disavows project 2025. In reality it changes nothing. The heritage foundation will try to accomplish its goals one way or another.

I’m not saying it’s an effective strategy but I do know conservatives like my dad will use this to be in total denial about their intent.

If you want to know my rebuttal, it will be, “if trump has no connection to project 2025 he should drop that ghoul Stephen Miller, a major contributor to project 2025. He wont.”

      Nah this is 100% optics.

These people are so deluded that they didn’t realize just how unpopular this shit is. Republicans have been coasting for decades by not saying the quiet bit out loud. They’ve deluded themselves into believing that the majority of their voters actually agree with their insane, horrifying beliefs and plans (or, at the very least, not openly.

They have benefited so long by maintaining a level of plausible deniability that allows them to pretend that they don’t actually want this country to be a Christian theocratic fascist nation, they just want to lower your taxes and want smaller government. Really.

It’s interesting to see that this where the line is… Or maybe it’s just that people finally started paying attention?
