It actually does. Or rather, being a lesbian removes the context of having an extractive system of violence that exploits women for their reproductive, domestic, emotional and sexual labor to the act of desiring women, which makes uttering lonelyness not a potential threat or suspect of being an expression of entitlement.

this is the kind of real shit that would break the collective brains of all the other lemmy instances, who are still perpetually stuck on “erm i consider myself an equalist. what about misandry tho??” discourse

I mean, it can get one into hot water here as well. There’s a reason i added “potential” and “suspect of” in the last sentence as if i was writing a news piece about somebody who can send a team of lawyers after me.

The walls are thin enough here that I know that’s bullshit. But besides, written and drawn porn is consumed in huge amounts by women.

It’s kind of hormonal, and tastes change. I can relate.

A lot of porn is made for a straight male viewer. Even a large chunk of porn featuring lesbians and lesbian sex as a central or exclusive feature of a scene, are made for a straight male viewer, and not really often made for women or a queer audience.

It’s one of those things where if you know you know. “I can describe to you what LSD feels like, and some of the subjective experience, but until you try it yourself you’ll never really understand” kind of logic at play here.

Porn that’s made for women has a different emphasis, and uses the language of film to emphasize different things.

A woman would have no trouble getting going on basicremovednormie porn, under normal circumstances, don’t get me wrong, but it’s all shot for a male audience and there’s just a sub-optimality to it.

It’s why a lot of women like written smut and stuff. It more naturally speaks to the elements of intimacy we’re looking for.

God, I can get absolutely autistic about the changes in my sexuality i’ve documented since starting HRT in 2018, but it would be a really long thing to post @ hexbear meme posters

But girls like porn. There’s just not a whole lot of good porn, and society fucks up cis-femme sexuality basically from birth so the deck is further stacked against an ideal ‘good time’

I think you’re considering “porn” to just be the kind of male-gazey stuff on pornhub and not erotica or drawings or anything like that. Stuff aimed specifically at a male audience is going to be less appealing to women.

EDIT: Nevermind, I didn’t realise other people had already explained it much better than I did.

Hi, woman here. I enjoy (written) erotica (and have since I began to have a sex drive). Also some drawn stuff can be really nice and I know a number of my friends are also quite into erotica and some visual stuff to spark the imagination a bit. Most non-drawn porn is made for the male gaze though as others have mentioned which makes it not really that great as a regular choice.

Just wanted to say as a transfem enby, these are my tastes as well and it was very affirming when I learned that this taste was more common among women.

        gender dysphoria

I mostly had guy friends growing up. They’d talk about porn they were watching or talk about women they found attractive in terms of individual body parts and it always seemed so gross. It was also just unrelatable. My tastes made me weird and I felt disgusting about it. In retrospect, I was also just disgusted by the effects testosterone had on my sexuality. Estrogen has been so much more comfortable that it’s hard to overstate.
