I don’t get it, how do all these countries’ governments, that we’re told are so hated by their people, just handing out guns to their people? Don’t they know our news tells us their people want the ability to rise up? Aren’t they reading the same news we do?
People could rationalize it like “they are probably just arming the narco gangs.” Or that the news in authoritarian commie countries is a mouthpiece of the dictator/party and so they just assume any positive news is made up.

IIRC the current strategy is to force them into accepting “aid” that can only be distributed by “religious” organizations. Not that the Trump admin hasn’t been making those threats. Just yesterday some dipshit told me he defended our community by being in the U.S. military. So I called him a baby killer, and now half of my neighborhood hates me. Revolution is painful. Protecting it even more so. I think Cuba was able to do something no socialist project could do to the same extent: teaching people through education why Socialism is important.
Contrary to Western propaganda, Socialist projects in the past didn’t do nearly enough propaganda. So their populations never thought of the pitfalls of capitalism, and reactionary ideologies festered.
Even if Cuba’s immediate future is troubled, have faith in the will of her people. They’ve done incredible things before. They’ll be leading almost all of LatAm into a better world
