  • Yes, doing anti-homeless sweeps - which often result in homeless people losing all their things including the things they need to survive in harsh weather - is going to make things better.

    He's literally a member of the democrats. He is doing the things democrats do and will continue to do the things democrats do, because he has joined the democratic party. You can appreciate the few positive things he may be able to achieve and be pleased about the good positions he holds, but you absolutely do not need to defend him over instantly selling out and going back on his word. Americans (and much of the rest of the world to be fair) DESPERATELY need to start holding their politicians to some kind of standard! Seriously, please just have... SOME expectations of your elected officials. This is a bad thing both because it shows how few principles he has and because it is an evil, inhuman, cruel practise that he is reinstating.

  • See when I was a designer (structural/mechanical drafter, mostly bulk materials handling systems like conveyors and piping), I kinda loved it when I designed something that never got made. I still got paid, still got to solve all the neat little puzzles that go into a design, BUT I didn't have to suffer any anxiety that I made an error that might cost time, money, or, god forbid, blood! Win-win-win! Now part of that is how atomized we all were anyway, how little connection we had even to the projects that did get built, but even so.
