Craziest part about this is the fucking EVE subreddit, completely full of reactionaries, shat on those calling me an extremist. Didn’t see that coming.

More like, the right-left dynamic was redefined by liberalism to be purely about social progressivism versus traditionalism, with economics treated as a “settled question” where everyone implicitly agrees upon market liberalism.

OP, I was going to ask about links rants but then tuned into your stream, right as you were saying “people don’t understand why the USSR and China weren’t imperialist”

    There is a difference.

When someone calls themselves a “leftist” it means modern socdem at best and liberal with a compassionate streak more often.

When someone calls themselves a socialist, it’s more likely they’re at least actually on the left.

I prefer exact tendency labels, or to call myself a “tankie”.

The one talking about how he “talks like hes superior to chat” I think shows something important.

A lot of “centrists” and right wingers hate the left because the left actually has explanatory power and the ability to understand complex geopolitical events properly in a way that much more blinkered worldviews do not. And a lot of people in western society view anyone who seems to know more than them as a threat, someone to avoid, but this makes them uncomfortable, so they justify it to themselves and others like this, by blaming it on some perceived character flaw rather than what they are actually saying. Notice he never goes into detail about why these “Far left rants” are wrong, only that he doesn’t like to hear them.

And see also “Tankie” which seems to have become this term for libs as a catch all for “bad/anti-status quo leftist”, someone to be dismissed without thought, being a “tankie” is a character flaw that means any arguments they present are inherently bad to listen to.
