Trying to make an effort to cool it with the misanthropy, both here and in counseling with inconsistent results. No one here deserves it, even if I’m angry at how the world is embracing fascism.
Last week I:
- Ordered a 16kg kettlebell to advance my workouts. How is it that in a huge city there’s nowhere I can just go and buy one in person? Then of course I realized it’s a lump of cast iron and there are several on craigslist/marketplace/etc near me. d’oh.
- Advanced (with the light kettlebell) from light practicing daily to proper workouts of swings 2x/wk, get-ups 2x/week.
- Since the workout isn’t the same each day, I decided I need a way to track when I do them, so I put together a little whiteboard for habits. 3 weeks of seven days, color coding for cleaning, hygiene, and workout. Each day I mark off what I got done.
- Volunteered at the local bike coop, after repeated prodding from my friend. Of course it was rainy so there were more helpers than customers and I didn’t do a dang thing.
This week I plan to:
- Attend a kettlebell class to make sure my form is OK before I nearly double the weight.
- Volunteer at the bike coop again - Let’s make it consistent!
- Make it to the workshop at least two evenings and make real progress on this bookshelf that is driving me nuts.
Worked hard this weekend on the roof, as per my post. Got takeout though but that’s because I’ve been tired from work. Will start walking again next week. One bit of good news, the walks have strengthened my legs and core so I was actually able to lift things and work.
