I said then, and I say now, that while there is a lower class, I am in it, and while there is a criminal element I am of it, and while there is a soul in prison, I am not free.
I saw an article about how rich people build museums attached to their homes. They get a tax deduction from the building costs, and don’t have to pay property taxes on that part. They use them for private parties, weddings, etc.
They’re supposed to be open to the public, but of course nobody from the government checks into that. The reporter wasn’t able to get into any of them.
I’m assuming that’s what the “philanthropy wing” is about.
For me what helped was finding ways to enjoy exercise and focusing on that. I think some of it almost was like self delusion at first, but now I legitimately enjoy my exercise routine. Treating it like some terrible tasting medicine you have to endure makes it easier to stop when you aren’t in a great place. That’s not to say that I don’t still have days where I don’t want to start, but once I get going I’m happy I did.
It’s nice to have positive indicators of progress, but for some people it’s difficult for that to be your sole motivation.
I saw a YouTube video where someone who lives next to a covered bridge clipped together every truck that ignored the clearance signs and damaged the bridge. The description said there’s a $5k fine for that.
The comments were full of, “This is a scam! They need to fix that bridge”. Americans are so broken that personal freedom is now the right to destroy historic bridges without consequences.
I feel your pain. I don’t do minimalist shoes, but I have the same issue with Brooks and Salomon, It seems like they can’t go very long without changing or outright eliminating models.
I’ve had luck searching on Google shopping to find closeouts, as long as the change wasn’t too long ago. It’s usually a local or regional sporting goods store that is stuck with old stock and selling it off online.
Nobody sells their car in reaction to a catalytic converter theft. They just get more reactionary politics when it comes to crime, and become more likely to shoot a stranger that wanders into their yard.
Could be your piriformis muscle. The stretch is a big clue to that, although I’m not sure about the pins and needles.
I had pain in that area and was sure it was the joint, that I’d need surgery, etc. Went to physical therapy and they figured it out almost immediately by massaging. You could try the same if you can’t get physical therapy for whatever reason.
Imagine a letter C just to the left of the green circle in your picture, just behind where your hip protrudes out. Rub that by hand, or with a tennis ball between that area and a wall. If you feel some instant relief from that it’s probably your piriformis. From there you can do some exercises and stretches to strengthen it over time, reply and I can send you a website with them.
It’s doable in that amount of time. Make a training plan, but don’t be so rigid with that plan that you get an injury. Listen to your body.
I’m not an expert but I have been running for a long time. I’d start with low heart rate training. Do mostly slow runs, gradually increasing your mileage until you get to the target mileage. You want to be doing 80% of your mileage in zone 2(if you don’t use any technology, zone 2 is about where you can easily say a few sentences while running). Once you’re comfortable at your goal distance start phasing in speed work and more hills.
