On the stand Tuesday, Musk traced his motivation to help launch OpenAI to a deep distrust of Google, which he believed did not take AI safety seriously and could not be trusted to responsibly develop such powerful technology.

As if Musk can be trusted to be more responsible than the other rich fucks/companies. Dude bought a social media site to better meddle in international politics.

Hey Musk, if you think there should be open source AI with proper ethical barriers, why don’t you go for it first with Grok? You’ve got the power to make change happen for the better. Be the leader you imagine yourself to be!

Certainly an interesting article and it would certainly be a good thing if OAI was forced back into being a non-profit actor (though not for Musks sake).

At the heart of the case is his accusation that OpenAI co-founder and CEO Sam Altman betrayed the company’s original nonprofit mission.

    This seems accurate.

    …and the proposed consequences:

Along with seeking to force OpenAI back to a nonprofit structure and oust Altman and Brockman, Musk has sought as much as $134 billion in damages – which he has pledged to redirect to the OpenAI nonprofit.

I could get behind so long as those 134Bn never enter Musks hands.

Do they need more knives for the backstabbing? I would consider that a good investment of tax payer funds. We’ll need a lot more knives when the MAGA backstabbing begins, so maybe we should look into a volume discount. We want to make sure every backstabber gets a proper knife.

        Order popcorn, too.

This is really the base cause of all of Musk’s weird attacks, isn’t it? He realises he did a dumb thing, and then somebody else must foot the bill.
