Marxist-Leninist but willing to buddy up with Progressives.

Wants Oregon, or any state, to secede from the American Union to preserve rights. Never found a time where America was great.

  • They’ve completely thought this through to their conclusion already. We’re the ones who haven’t.

I think a lot of people are realizing that the richest of humanity is up to some evil shit. A great many people also listened to what these people have said and are incredibly disturbed. You are not alone, I am not alone, and this entire sub is not alone. I think the first steps to take are:

    1. Show how big the anti-elite movement is to the people in it
    2. Make a plan of action
  • The free market is generally pretty good at allocating scarce resources

I disagree. Heavily. This may be based on my own experiences, but reading about how Capitalism reaches a point of overaccumulation only to collapse, wherein people cannot work, makes sense, and is the reason this year is so gruesome. I have read about how grocery stores will get rid of food simply because they overproduce and then don't have enough to give out. You should do some reading on the Great Depression and unemployment. The simple question of "why can't people work even if they really want to?" has much less to do with government intervention and much more to do with the intrinsic parts of Capitalist production.

This is quite long so I have provided links.

  • Welcome to the club.

  • It's complicated, and maybe I wrote too soon. I admit that this exact phenomenon and its discussion are very nebulous. But I see that there is talk about the growing loneliness problem in the United States, Japan, Korea, and elsewhere. This is caused by:

    1. People not wanting to raise children in today's world. This is because of wealth inequality, which is the result of overaccumulation from the bourgeoise and weakening of the proletariat. This is explained well in Blackshirts And Reds by Michael Parenti. There is also the problem of climate change that the book also brings up, which also dissuades parents from having kids.
    2. People not having enough money to raise kids. Again, this is because of the weakening of the proletariat. Rights like parental leave, like all other political rights, are not simply bestowed by some higher power, but are the result of a compromise between the owning and working class, where the owning class forfeits some of its power due to massive strikes and protests. This lack of power goes from parents to their kids. TL;DR In the United States, Korea, Japan, and elsewhere, men and women are overworked. And while a small amount of people have a massive amount of money they don't need, the rest of the people can't even afford to have children. This is because of the logic of Capitalism, where money is pursued instead of everything else, and everything is turned into money, which translates into power.
  • Boredom? I'm not bored. I'm fucking terrified of the government and the people behind it.

  • Like many Iranian Americans, I love this country and the many blessings that it’s provided my family

And if he said otherwise, he'd get killed, because free speech doesn't actually exist.

  • Capitalism makes so many things terrible that you just have to go and fight against one of them, even if it's only one part. Of course it's technically Capitalism that made AI so horrible, and altho ideally neural networks are a very cool technology, practically they must be fought against to the hilt.

  • I’m very worried about this tool and who gets to control it.

I'm worried most about the insane power it uses. Just shut down the damn data centers.

  • Why do you need images that are so perfect? Why can't you just be fine with doodling?

The philosopher Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king. Said Aristippus, "If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils." Said Diogenes, "Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.

  • I wish this sub didn’t allow low-effort meme posts because it’s such a brain rot circle-jerk.

There are plenty of articles that are written out that you can read. AI takes immense energy to operate, for one. It uses a lot of water. Go down and read what journalists have written, and you'll find that there are solid points against AI development that name-calling will not do justice.

  • The business of a king separates him from the world...

  • You all need to read up on Marxism and capitalist alienation

  • sometimes I need to make a PowerPoint and there’s an image that I think would convey a point.

Don't worry, we're all here to help you out.

    1. You can use GIMP to put images on top of one another.
    2. You can draw stick figures and other "shorthands" for objects.
    3. There's this video here that can show you other tools for illustration rather than using AI.
    4. It's also a good idea to get into a type of drawing, where instead of detailed illustration, it deals with visualizations such as maps, graphs, and flowcharts. You might want to practice that.

Also, you might just find an image that is pre-generated by some douchebag and ends up in your search results. The main thing you don't want to do is generate any new material.

  • Suburban households and their culture have been a disaster for the human race.

  • Look, if you're not an artist, instead of looking to a machine, cooperate with someone else. AI image generation is not worth your time. Ask yourself this: What is the point of art? What reason do we have to make pictures at all?

This is not to be smug or to "pwn" you. Legitimately think about this; I'd recommend twenty seconds.

See if any of the reasons given apply to AI art. To me, they don't. Art itself is opposed to Taylorism, so applying Taylorist principles to art doesn't work.

  • Doodle on the back of a receipt. Just do it.

  • You’ve made a potential error in underestimating just how horrible some peoples’ lives are and how filled with hatred they are over that fact.

What fact? People's lives are horrible BECAUSE of ICE. They're so horrible that I considered that nobody would be "on the fence" because either you drank the Fear-Of-Crime Kool-Aid or you are horrified at what ICE agents are doing to children and poor people. The entire reason there are people who don't think ICE needs to be abolished right now is because Fox News and other right-wing grifters have pumped out propaganda making it look like there is a "crime wave" like it's the Reagan Era, and people living in the Suburbs not knowing what the outside world is like. Not only do they choose to portray a crime wave, they have to do it, because otherwise people would see their president as the power-hungry maniac he is rather than a savior of order. No riot is actually making people miserable, only the police-reported, sensationalist coverage of protests.

This is really what drives so much of politics in the world–disgruntled people with no future who choose to hate others who have nothing to do with it.

That's just the American Suburbs. I hope American states can secede to change this. Meanwhile, in Vietnam, there is a high-speed rail being built. This is not driven by disgruntled people, people with no future, or people who choose not to hate others who have nothing to do with it. Neither is Iran defending itself from an imperialist regime, nor Australia having their left-wing Labour party completely outdo the right-wing Liberal party. America is the villain here.

  • All of a sudden, so many things are "not protected speech". I find it tempting to be as ignorant as a Republican, but I'd certainly be caught off guard in that case.

  • PR for who? Who is on the fence about ICE?
