Every article this woman has is like this. She said the solution to dealing with Trump was to have AI be the president recently.
Why on earth would you want people to eat more fish? As wasteful as the livestock industries are, fisheries are already stressed far past their limits and represent a rapidly collapsing common resource that needs to be left alone to recover. People need to be eating less fish and crab from industrial sources, and maybe marginally more in places where there’s a sustainable local population or something invasive but edible that needs to be culled anyways.
USAins are incompetent/impotent/whatever word you want to use when it comes to diet. It’s not entirely their fault, they are not taught proper nutrition. It doesn’t really matter if you tell them to eat this or that, they will do it in the unhealthiest and most wasteful way possible.
Yeah. Everyone’s taught to consume fast food and packaged sugar treats, and generational family cooking knowledge got systematically wiped out with instant meals and fast food being pushed as middle class standards. As much as there’s sort of been a resurgence of people learning how the fuck to actually prepare food in the past decade or so it’s still not a common thing.
lol i eat four frozen pizzas a week because i’m too depressed to make a sandwich consistently
I have no energy to properly feed myself its a fucking miracle i eat at all
the only thing worse than doing food prep when i’m not up to it is feeling hungry for hours
I just eat several handfuls of baby spinach
We gotta get people to think sea urchins and lionfish make your dick bigger
Didn’t you see, Americans are eating woefully low amounts of fish. Woefully!!
I’m opportunistic in my eating. when i was near the sea, i ate things from the sea. i don’t live near the sea now, so i don’t eat things from the sea. its weird to me how people try to push harder to overcome geographic realities. in the abstract, refrigeration and cheap transport/energy has annihilated time and space. but will it always be so?
like right now, im deep in the mountains and it’s still hovering around freezing after a long winter, so im chewing on my shirt and sipping cold water.
Imagine living in the mountains and not eating lichen
i have been in my sedentary phase for years, so my shirt is absolutely covered in lichen. delicious.
Getting the average USAan man to eat anything that isn’t beef, pork or chicken is a Herculean effort
There’s probably even a sizable % that think chicken makes you “sus”
My uncle used to joke that “chicken is a vegetable”
Now he’s dead
Damn! How’d you do it?
He was a cop, so i told him that the powdered sugar on his donut was fentanyl and he had a coronary
Brutal.

chicken?? It’s right there in the name, no self-respecting straight man would eat such girly “meat”
Str8est man alive: Only the manliest meat for this mou-
Str8r man: ^That’s right, it’s why Daddy’s home now sweetie, just like that, I got your favorite dinner, babe. gotta really work for it, your wife already had hers^
Totally still super str8 man: mmmm enthusiastic mouth sounds
Why not just use plant proteins if people don’t care for fish anyway this is so dumb.
Preachin’ to the choir.
big fish gotta make money
Why would you ruin perfectly good tuna or salmon like that? Why can’t food just be allowed to be what it is instead of having to pretend it is something it is not?
That’s been the baffling thing with meat or even specifically beef replacements, that it’s consistently been this half assed attempt to just swap something else in while leaving the recipe unchanged and it doesn’t work. Like tofu isn’t a generic meat replacement, culinarily it’s more like a very mild cheese that doesn’t melt and it just serves a similar role to meat in fleshing out a meal when prepared properly; it isn’t a 1:1 switch and instead has to be handled in its own way. Or like how companies tried to just swap in ground poultry for ground beef and sell it as a “health conscious” choice when preparing ground poultry so it’s not revolting takes a fair bit of practice.
Of course now there’s Impossible Meat which is cheaper, easier to work with, and better than ground beef so there’s now one exception to that principle.
Explaining alternatives to burgers to an American: “so imagine a burger…”
It’s just fish prepared another way
I love fish but I barely ever eat it since my oven is busted. I should look into ways to prepare it via a pan or the grill.
It doesn’t get easier than pan searing and making a sauce from the drippings
I’d just cook it with the skin on and then peel the skin off and give it to my cats.
I love salmon fillets, especially in a cesar salad, but I have decided to transition to vegan. I would cook them in a cast iron skillet. They are good for pretty much anything.
Get a fish spatula fr or it’s going to fall to pieces while cooking if you’re eating anything less sturdy than salmon
Will keep in mind, ty, going to see tomorrow if my store lets you order fresh fish via door dash
If you just CTRL- F “fish” and replaced with “Beans” this would actually be a decent policy.
People here are deathly afraid of soy because they are just so masculine.
awww, you think I’m masculine?
You must clean the beans, cutting down the midline to remove the spine and fins
if you’re eating green beans, you should remove the spine and tail actually. the spine
is filled with poopis fibrousPoop is stored in the spine
Sure our marine ecosystems are collapsing due to climate change and industrial over-fishing but yea, the real problem is American hogs not eating enough seafood
damn
imagine just not eating seafood…
Arwa Madhawi must be The Guardian’s resident bad take generator.
Isn’t it a thing to make sushi look like other food? And it’s mostly a novelty if anything?
