Dude, if you needed to just do nothing for a day, that’s time well spent. You need time to recharge. Your value is not measured in how many tasks you can do.
how about a small collection of weekends?
small… like between 2 and 30…
I can’t help but see his open mouth and chin lines as a frowning Hitler stache.
Oh, I know that conversation. I seem to have it every week.
You know what, OP? Just-- you know what? I… You know what?
Rude.
There is basically nothing wrong with doing nothing and letting the day pass now and then.
That being said, if you don’t keep your mind occupied somehow, it’s not good for your brain in the long term. I’d say the biggest danger of just passing time is that it lets your brain degrade.
It’s especially good to do different activities that stimulate different aspects of your brain. Play a musical instrument or sing regularly. Solve different types of puzzles. Socialize a bit every day. Learn a new language. Exercise. Meditate. Get enough sleep and don’t eat too much trash. These are the things we know that you can do for your brain.
Agreed! I really think it boils down to what John Lennon said: “Time enjoyed wasting is not wasted”.
I interpret it as going beyond enjoyment, it is not beneficial anymore. Actual boredom degrades the brain, but it is also not enjoyed (as you are feeling bored, which is not nice).
I want to do nothing but there’s some seasonal event to drive to.
Apathy and exhaustion are more powerful than ambition.
Not with that attitude
Too much anything is not good but remember, resting is important. Take care of yourself.
This is my gf and me. I see the weekend as a chance to rest and recover, she sees it as a chance to do all the things she didn’t have time to do.
My wife and I are the exact opposite of this.
Sounds like you found your wife.
The artist forgot to draw him doomscrolling on his phone.
