After telling Semafor he has “no plans” to campaign with leading anti-genocide voice Hasan Piker, Michigan Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed explains to MS NOW why he is set to campaign Tuesday with President Biden’s Vice President Kamala Harris.

El-Sayed claims Harris “understood the challenges with the Biden-era policy toward Gaza going into 2024.”

second one

Hasan Piker defended Abdul El-Sayed’s decision to campaign with former Vice President Kamala Harris, arguing the appearance could help the Michigan Senate nominee reach older Black voters. Harris is set to campaign with El-Sayed in Michigan on Tuesday.

“Bringing Kamala Harris in to stump for him, specifically to boost his approvals with Black voters, is a good thing… We want Abdul to win… This is not about agreeing with Kamala Harris. It’s not about her positions,” said Piker.

“The question always is: Do you want to win? And if you want to win, you have to do this. Okay? I don’t think it’s a bad idea at all. I think it’s a good idea.”

The move has drawn pushback from pro-Palestinian critics who see campaigning alongside Harris as whitewashing her role as Vice President in an administration that continued supplying Israel with massive quantities of weapons to obliterate civilian life in Gaza for 15 months.

By the administration’s final week, Gaza’s Health Ministry reported nearly 46,600 Palestinians had been recorded killed as Israel’s siege and the US-Israel led campaign against UNRWA drove Gaza into catastrophic hunger. UN-backed experts issued warnings of a “strong likelihood” famine thresholds had already been crossed in northern Gaza in 2024. The area was officially declared in famine later in August 2025.

Harris eventually called for a ceasefire and greater humanitarian relief, but did nothing to break with the Biden administration’s policy of unconditional military support for Israel, even as Israeli soldiers filmed and posted footage of their own atrocities in Gaza. The potential 2028 presidential contender has since said the administration should have put more pressure on Netanyahu, but has not repudiated its policy of arming Israel or publicly accused Israel of committing war crimes, despite ICC and ICJ cases.

the problem with being this deep in the tank for Dems is that you eventually ignore your own principles to get their approval bc they’re a deeply diseased party. here, you’re trampling your record on Gaza and for what? so Kamala Harris can campaign with him? cowardly

  • The main thing that baffles me is that, even if you are in the frame of mind of ignoring morality and just assuming that he/his staff is just doing whatever is necessary to get elected, who is Kamala Harris bringing to this election? Anyone that has positive thoughts of Harris or opinions that could be swayed by Harris are the type of identitarian Democrat voters that are already just counting down the days to early voting so that they can vote straight ticket Democrat. There is no one that would think staying home or voting Republican is an option that likes Harris. She had to dropout to avoid losing her home state in the 2020 primaries for a reason.

Usually, you publicly associate with someone like her to reassure fascist donors that your populist rhetoric won’t turn into any serious deeds.

older black voters, according to the available data, are uniquely receptive to genocide joe, not kamala

(which is also a racist assumption to make)

    • It’s crazy how much Biden’s image was burnished by being Obama’s VP. I always feel a little insane having to explain to zoomer coworkers that the entire reason that Biden was the VP pick was the worry about alienating racist moderates with a black candidate, so they were “balancing the ticket” by having the VP be the most racist white man in the Democrat party.

biden was also promoted across media (leaving aside 2016 astroturded subreddit promoting biden), parks and recreation, community etc during 2010, it’s quite something (trump as well tbh)

        • Yeah, I don’t think it really had much of an effect in the grand scheme of things, but this is one thing the Onion apologized for that I think was necessary. They became really sorry after 2020 for all the satirical cool uncle/fun redneck stories about Joe Biden when he was just the VP not doing much in terms of actual policy.

so did hexbear, you can literally just search fetterman posts from hexbear and sort by old

      hexbear soying out for Fetterman

oh yeah fetterman is cool as hell.

This isn’t saying much but he’d be a top 2-3 lefty senator if he win

Fetterman seems pretty cool. One of a very, very small number of people to endorse Bernie 2016 (even think he called himself a democratic socialist once, but idk if he uses the label anymore) already puts him in the top 1% of the Democrats. He’s worth making some phone calls or knocking doors if you’re not doing anything better with your time next year.

I’d vote for him if he runs in the general

This guy is great and if he loses to Dr. Oz I’m going to fucking lose it.

I want to watch John Fetterman beat the shit out of someone on the senate floor

I love the guy and while he’s a lib, he’s less lib than he lets on. He was also on a Bordain episode and at a personal level he’s super compassionate. Very excited to vote for him and he’ll immediately be in the top 5 of furthest left current senators

That said, I support him 100% unless like Summer Lee jumps into the race. The alternatives in the race right now are Bidenite shit-libs. Fetterman is the most left guy in statewide politics in my lifetime.

Other than this shitty comment, Fetterman is one of the less bad Democrats. He’d probably be the second best person in the Senate, behind only Bernie.

BY GAWD IS THAT SENATOR FETTERMAN WITH THE STEEL CHAIR?

I hope Fetterman wins because I do want to see a sitting senator pick up an eat another sitting senator.

and so on and so forth

To the site’s credit all the earliest mentions of Platner are people talking about how he seems gross and offputting and possibly a fed + complaining about people around them liking him

Polling of likely Black voters in key battleground states (such as Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Michigan) showed her capturing about 84% support, outperforming general national variations

Kamala Harris is popular with Black Americans by a 7 to 10 ratio, that’s a cold hard fact

Also Hasan is in a delicate position with black radical and liberal spaces after that noxious ambush interview with Samoyne Sanders and Eugene what’s his name, where they intentionally tried to frame him as anti-black, as a result he made it perfectly clear with his very white chat, he’s dialing it back and purposely not steping on narrative mines obviously planted by liberals and as we now know consultants surrounding Kamala Harris

Like how is no one clocking that this is an obvious attempt to bait Abdul and by extension the liberal delusion of Hasan Piker as master surrogate of the Abdul campaign into a so-called anti-black narrative campaign, no obviously Kamala just really likes Abdul and by extension Hasan Piker, despite the millions pumped into agitprop against both of them

Hasan is one of them at this, his words are meaningless and donations do little to alleviate what he does with his platform. He is a genocides by deeds and associations even if he himself doesn’t want to end entire ethnic groups.

Well not only did she rubber stamp it, she double triple downed it. So she owns it as much as Biden, as much as Blinken and the rest of just sign here ‘Don’t need to be Jew to be a zionazi’ stink tanks running the weekend at Biden shitshow.

She made sure to make it clear she’d wholeheartedly support Israel, that the only thing standing between her and helping murder Gazans was an election. She really, REALLY wanted to make it clear she was 100% in Israel’s camp.

Honestly this is what I’m starting to see. 99.9% of anyone who spends long enough cavorting with established politicians gets their whole worldview skewed within a couple years, they stop seeing reality for what it is.

IDK kind of a low key way of saying older Black voters are pro genocide or older Black voters are incapable of thinking for themselves and isn’t that insulting in of itself?

Or is it really the party moderates trying to use Abdul’s momentary celebrity and national spotlight to attempt to rehabilitate Kopmala and K-Hive ahead of a 2028 run?

You call them American voters lol.

Also rampant Islamaphobia is just an issue with older Americans in general right now, at least from my IRL conversations. Zionists bought out both CBS and CNN and that is their main source of information. I’ve noticed a lot of PEP style talking points that seem to be regurgitated at me, but they fold instantly as soon as I push back or just don’t actually know the talking points.

Older Americans are incapable of thinking for themselves as a cohort, and some of those people are black, isn’t it that simple?

Deranged old white republican people like trump, deranged old black democrat people like Biden and Harris I guess, doesn’t surprise me

Maybe it’s just cope, but I hope that its simply a matter of thinking his message is going to go further in her audience such as it is, then her message will go with his reach. I can’t imagine this working out for Kamala to help her appeal to the left or even progressives, but I can imagine centrists being soothed by the nice doctor who showed up with her
