The Counter-Revolution of 1776:Slave Resistance and the Origins of the United States of America.

As the United States of America, celebrate its independence anniversary declared on 4th July, 1776, we take a look at the history of America, the events that led to declaration of independence, and most importantly why declaration of independence was not a cause for celebration among all Americans, particularly for the native Americans and the enslaved African Americans. “For Native Americans, it may be a bitter reminder of colonialism, which brought fatal diseases, cultural hegemony and genocide. Neither did the new republic’s promise of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” extend to African Americans. The colonists who declared their freedom from England did not share their newly founded liberation with the millions of Africans they had captured and forced into slavery.”

The so-called Revolution was according to Professor Gerald Horne, was a ‘Counter-Revolution’ a conservative effort by American colonists to protect their system of slavery. Contrary to anonymous role often assign to African Americans in the American Revolution (which Prof. Gerald Horne refer to as Counter-Revolution) the prof. lucidly outline their roles and their major impact. The book is a great shift in paradgim.

    LOL Trump ruins everything. Fucking 80 year old child sticks his fucking face in it, made it so if the US wins, they’re dirty, and if they lose, it’s even more pathetic, and it’s clearly in their heads and fucking their game up.

    I read Sea Of Tranquility by Emily St Mandel and IDK, it seemed like a very lib and surface level take on COVID, and a very surface level take on time travel. I liked the exploration of pandemics but that didn’t go far enough. It was probably the first book to market to describe the COVID experience, but like, everyone was there, they know what it was like. Especially when you’re not adding anything to it other than describing what working from home was like. And her self insert character had a take on post-apocalyptic fiction that really pissed me off for how lib it was.

    Plus, massive oversight on the whole timetravel narrative that just felt unnecessary.

    I wanna share a funny story from my time playing Marathon:

    So I played solo the other day, I wanted to be a chiller, do some contracts, be easy. I get to Overflow on Perimeter, i scope the area, seems someone here, so i waltz around a bit, wait for them to leave. I lose patience and check it out, but in doing so run into another player, an Assassin. He opens fire, so i have no choice but to return some, and i, for whatever reason, had better battlesense to move more, so i win. I dispatch him, take some stuff and decide to move on.

    Not even out the door when i see another player. I try to ask in Proximity chat if they’re cool, but they immediately shoot me. So i open fire, they take cover behind a rock and i hear them trying to heal, and i charge at them hoping to interrupt. They jump back and after a short gunfight, we both go down. I say on Prox “If you were cool, we’d both be walking away”. It’s at this exact moment i saw the prompt on my screen, that i remembered i took a self-revive from the last fight.

    I immediately administer the revive as he shouts “fuck you” over the comms, and I get up with what was probably the most unintentional bad manners i’ve ever done in a video game.

    I trashpicked an Xbox 360 Kinect last week.

    Uh… Guess who learned that thing is a weird cousin of zionist “Wonder Weapons”? Yeah.

    That’s a “fun little fact” that’ll pop into my head every single time I see a Kinect.

    Maybe I can get some interesting photography going on with it.

    Shit sorry @tocopherol@hexbear.net, I forgot to reply. Yeah we also get lots of the “I’ve been day drinking and want to shout about muh country and/or slurs”-types, but auditors’ “thing” is that they’re always livestreaming. They’re fash-aligned. You sometimes see them with multiple phones and a GoPro on a fancy gimble but some of them just use a plain phone. Some of them are silent, others will be doing commentary and occasionally shouting stuff to bait protestors. I’d like to think that their tendency to wear all black and often cover their faces is because they’re ashamed or worried about getting doxxed, but that’s probably wishful thinking.

    Thanks for the reply though. Good that you don’t have them but I’m just a bit curious really to see if they’ve spread anywhere else.

      I was thinking about a similar type that might be present in the US and I had to look up what this term auditors meant, the first headline was “auditors: far-right youtube wankers pretending to be journalists” and we do have those types for sure haha, but yeah they don’t have shame or fear of prosecution like hopefully the UK wankers might. They will try to aggro people sometimes but mostly by just being a piece of shit that makes people want to punch them, they use the law to their advantage though, trying to get people to assault them so they can sue them or look like a victim and retaliate with “justification” if they are the fighting type.

      I haven’t been to as many protests in the last two or so years as I used to though, in my experience people who were recording or livestreaming trying to start shit and causing trouble would get pretty heavily harassed and leave after someone throws a bottle or something at them, maybe I’ve been lucky at the ones I’ve been to.

    Went into the bathroom my roommates share for the first time in a while to grab cleaning supplies to clean my bathroom and 🤢 shit’s nasty. And stuff I thought for sure was in there wasn’t even there so I guess we’re out so my cleaning plans are foiled too.

      Other people are pretty disgusting. Visiting other people’s places is wild and it makes me feel so much better about myself. Like okay, I’ve never dusted my bathroom and more often than not the sink is a little stained from me cleaning a smoking device. But these people are out here growing roommates and shit. I try not to judge, especially if it’s their personal space and maybe they weren’t expecting a guest, etc. But also I want out ASAP. This is part of why I’ve tried to only poop at home my whole life. That and anxiety.
