  • So I haven't really been to the doctor properly since I was a kid. I've gone for a couple emergencies and two physicals. My insurance at work is changing so I'm using that as motivation, I guess. I have some knee and neck problems I want looked at, I want them to check my iron and my sugar, etc.

    To the point of this post: I'd like to pursue an ADHD and/or autism spectrum diagnosis. I'm 34, and while I don't expect anything to change with a diagnosis, it would be nice for someone official to tell me why I haven't felt like I belong anywhere for my whole fucking life and why I struggle so much in certain areas. It would just answer a lot of questions.

    So how does one do that? I'm in the US. Is it a psychologist or psychiatrist? Do I just say that? Hey I think I'm autistic, can you check on that? I understand there can be some difficult in adult diagnoses. But it's worth a try.

  • I'm a beer merchandiser in central Florida. I'm still surrounded by chuds all day, but I pretty much work alone. I started at 18 an hour because I've worked at Publix before.

    It's not ideal, but it's better than landscaping or some shit out in the sun. And idk about having your bathroom close at hand, as my route does send me sometimesan hour away. But there's definitely always a decent grocery store bathroom nearby. I have some minor stomach issues and prefer to be at home, but they do in an emergency.

  • Not to seek medical advice on the internet, but: I have issues with my right knee. The kneecap doesn't sit like it's supposed to and causes some arthritis type symptoms (or likely just arthritis). I've not been seen by a doctor for it yet.

    Occasionally in the past when I kneel on my right knee (I work in grocery, this happens a lot) it would hurt, like a sharp pain. For the last week or so it's been consistent. If I put my knee down on a hard surface, it feels like I'm kneeling on sharp gravel. Like my leg will just stop taking weight if I do it haphazardly, it hurts so bad.

    Has anyone experienced the same and can shed some light on what it might be? I plan on going to the doctor just haven't made it a priority yet.

  • I've got a lot of feels for you. I don't cook much. But my fondest memories of my mother are us in the kitchen cooking together when I was growing up. I was her assistant. As I aged I became the one that could handle the hot things and cut the big things, as she lost the ability to. Anyway, when I'm feeling down I turn on some old music and cook and dance and sing, and cry and hope my roommates stay in their rooms.
