  • Am from Florida. Not even 40 yet, already falling apart, and definitely don't feel finished.

  • I googled it for both of us. It appears to just mean a very sturdy/reliable transmission that holds up to abuse.

  • I have no authority here and am not personally offended, but given I was reflexively taken a aback to see unspoilered carnism on hexbear, it's probably a good call. I'm not even vegan but the surprise threw me off.

  • That's still my plan 😂

  • Not to seek medical advice on the internet, but: I have issues with my right knee. The kneecap doesn't sit like it's supposed to and causes some arthritis type symptoms (or likely just arthritis). I've not been seen by a doctor for it yet.

Occasionally in the past when I kneel on my right knee (I work in grocery, this happens a lot) it would hurt, like a sharp pain. For the last week or so it's been consistent. If I put my knee down on a hard surface, it feels like I'm kneeling on sharp gravel. Like my leg will just stop taking weight if I do it haphazardly, it hurts so bad.

Has anyone experienced the same and can shed some light on what it might be? I plan on going to the doctor just haven't made it a priority yet.

  • It is my biggest complaint at work. But sometimes it is actually impressive.

  • I've got a lot of feels for you. I don't cook much. But my fondest memories of my mother are us in the kitchen cooking together when I was growing up. I was her assistant. As I aged I became the one that could handle the hot things and cut the big things, as she lost the ability to. Anyway, when I'm feeling down I turn on some old music and cook and dance and sing, and cry and hope my roommates stay in their rooms.

  • Yeah and I think I'm a tiny bit further north still, looking at my forecast. We could all probably throw rocks at each other.

  • That was a fucking rollercoaster of emotion. Well done. It's sad to say it wasn't until the cops died in the headline that I started to really doubt.

  • The great man thing goes both ways. He's just the part of the machine that we can see currently. I'm sure these assholes aren't wanting for their special treats.

  • I agree! I just didn't want to be disparaging people because they've smoked crack, you know? Life puts us in weird places.

    Fuck that ghoul, though.

  • I hate it.

I think you're on to something.

  • I have at one point or other in my life done most of the drugs that probably come to mind when you think of drugs.

  • I certainly think it's possible in your case. My memory was already this bad before COVID, though. I have worried if it made it worse.

  • I would simply not buy a house I can't afford.

  • It is sad. I feel like I check here too often and it's far too often sad. But I guess that's where we live. Love you too!

Between what I believe to just be a naturally bad memory and having done a truly unreasonable amount of drugs in the past, I remember very, very little. It is weird seeing old pictures because it's kinda like hey I heard this story! Motherfucker you were there. And it's not like it only happens when I'm intoxicated. I spent a year in drug court (couldn't even have energy drinks, much less booze or drugs) and barely remember that year, too. And that was like 8 or so years ago. 2018, I think.

People don't understand how terrifying that can be.

  • I'm sorry you have to go through that. That's awful. You will get through it though. I definitely advise against the booze, but you know you better than I do.

I took care of my mother at home. Her condition was not nearly as affecting as you describe. But one day I came home from work and she had passed. It was unexpected and sudden to me. Her health was bad but like long-term bad. When the cops asked her doctor if she thought the death could be anything but natural the doctor was basically like no, absolutely not, this is not surprising. I'd have rather gotten that information from the doctor ahead of time than the cops after the fact...

  • I'm certainly no expert but it's my understanding that it takes gas at minimum three to six months to go bad. Apparently high ethanol gas goes faster. But I think you're probably fine to use it.

  • I'm just happy it took me so long to parse qtπ. Maybe my soul can be saved.
