You have already paid the taxes. Others' points are valid, but the important bit is it's already money that you've parted with. By not doing your taxes, if you're in a position that most(?) people are in, you're just not going to get your refund, and open yourself up to being audited I suppose. But yeah, you said you have a W2, which means you and your employer have already paid those taxes.

Similarly depressing sentiments

I've had a few similar moments lately. I also am very single and have no real friends or community. Any time I think I could be friends with someone I encounter through my job or something, they open their mouth and say some bigoted shit. So I can't even find solace in focusing on making this and the coming hell less horrible for us, together. So I go to work and then I come home, alone, and worry about the future.

I'm throwing this in a spoiler too. I've been thinking of posting this myself for a few days, so I guess this is it. Thanks for the motivation lol

Listen, I've snorted all sorts of drugs off all sorts of surfaces, including tanks of toilets in public restrooms. But I never would have looked at the seat and gone "yeah that's my first choice. The last guy's ass warmth will help the drugs go down easier."

New mega!

I need input on a silly thing. I haven't purchased a television in pretty much ever. The TV I have right now is like a 40 inch Emerson LCD that I think is 15+ years old. It's had signs of failure for a long time, but they're getting more frequent.

Thing is I know modern TVs are loaded with all kinds of nonsense. I honestly only use my TV as a computer monitor, HDMI. No cable, no Roku, nuthin. It's just a big monitor because I like to compute from bed. If I purchase a smart TV from Walmart or something, budget of about $250, can I just plug it in to HDMI and not bother with all the smart TV nonsense? I don't need it to stream Netflix, I just need it to show a picture. I guess I'm worried I'm going to be doing my thing and my television will decide to overlay an ad onto my computer input. But I do very much want a newer, slimmer TV. The one I have is a pain to move. And, as I said, dying.

So my dad does have cancer in his lungs. They don't know what kind it is yet or the treatment plan. He had more tests today.

All my love to you, comrade. I was like 11 when my dad had cancer, so obviously my experience will be a bit different. But I also cared for my ailing mother for years. If you need to vent or talk let me know!

I've said this my whole life. I don't particularly like the cold either, but you can't escape the heat outside. At least you can light a fire or put on more clothes if it's cold. I also live where it's humid enough (southeast US) that taking off clothes only helps so much - your sweat still won't evaporate off your skin.
