I wasn’t sure that this warranted its own thread but I wanted to post this similar thing I saw on Reddit:

There’s a few things going on here that are funny, for example:

    1. the idea that Netanyahu’s reign will be ended if enough people are angry at him,
    2. that “the left”’s critique of Netanyahu is that he’s not enough of a warmonger.

the idea that Netanyahu’s reign will be ended if enough people are angry at him,

That’s literally the only way liberals can conceive of anything changing at all. We simply all need to be informed enough about it and reality will spontaneously rearrange itself with no effort needed.

I have said almost exactly this about climate change when trying to explain to liberals that they actually don’t care about it at all. It is seriously like they think they can lecture the CO2 molecules enough that they will pack their bags and leave the atmosphere. Every single defense of a liberal politician’s (complete lack of) climate plan is “well, they said it was a threat!” Okay? I don’t need to be told that, but thanks.

Liberals, like their reactionary counterparts, only focus on aesthetics, not any actual change. I keep trying to explain to a few of them how conservatives say the wrong things on purpose. It’s both to flex their muscle (“I have so much power I can lie with zero consequences”) and because they know it makes liberals upset. But then I get deer in headlights followed by:

“OMG Trump such a lying hypocrite! How many abortions do you think he’s paid for?”

“How can people believe there’s microchips in vaccines?”

“My gay family member is a Trump supporter and I told him Trump hates gay people and he said it’s not true and changed the subject!”

…and so on. I then try explaining it again about in-groups, out-groups, and never believe they are unaware of the absurdity of their claims. You have to ignore what they say and push policy past them. Your goals as liberals should be to eradicate conservatives because they sure as shit are trying to do the same.

“But that would be authoritarian! We aren’t Russians!” they cry. And nothing continues to happen, because they think the only solution is to vote harder in the next election.

Depends on the lib. There are a lot of libs whose sole motivation is hatred of Republicans. Not underlying belief. Just dont do what republicans want

I assume they’re talking about domestic Israeli politics, where the so-called left wing parties absolutely are hammering Netanyahu for letting the MoU happen
