I do still believe that Islam is intrinsically homophobic, but of course I understand not all Muslims are such strict adherents, same as Christians run the gamut on this matter. The Islamic Resistance Movement often abbreviated as Hamas officially opposes Al-Qaeda and Jihadism. They should not be confused with IS / ISIS, which Hamas fought successfully, despite Israel funding these real Islamist in Palestine to further the genocide.

I think that at some point recently that has been what leadership in Hezbollah said about its own policies, but in Gaza (as far as I’ve been able to find) it is not actually criminalized, but queer people also don’t have any sort of protection as social minorities and there’s obviously a lot of social stigma among some groups.
I don’t really see how one gets to “Hamas would be largely in favor of killing lesbians” except by accepting the racialized propaganda spread by Israel and its Zionist supporters that conflates Hamas with groups like ISIS. Maybe I’m wrong, I’m certainly not an expert on the issue, but the closest thing I saw to that had to do with Palestinians forming (or trying to form) relationships with IDF soldiers, which I think we can agree has a little more to it.
Hamas isn’t one organization. It’s a collection of multiple groups with different views and goals. Some are Islamic, some are Christian, some are non-religious and even communist. Their shared goals are combating colonialism and imperialism.
While queer people are mostly viewed negatively in Gaza and The West Bank (the latter have more progressive views) there is very little violence against them compared to other countries in the region or even the West. There is still harm being done to them but also can’t be tied to any particular group.

Yes, it’s critical support. The PFLP and DFLP agreed to work together with Hamas and the other factions in a long process of national unity. This meeting in Beijing was part of the process.
It’s an example of a strategic united front of marxists with less progressive forces for the purposes of national liberation.
