  • I have no idea why it became so popular, but to try to make a real distinction from stereotypical plot-based porn, maybe it’s the difference between sex with a stranger vs sex with someone you know? Are people listening to porn with the volume up? If it’s muted, it might just seem like an awkward will-they-won’t-they(but they definitely will) of a legitimate friendship turned sexual.

    It might feel a bit more passionate to watch someone have sex with someone the actor supposedly already has a relationship than a random pizza boy or mechanic etc. I don’t know how popular “watch me have sex with my girlfriend” videos are, but I feel like people who are substituting relationships with porn would specifically avoid those because of their shame and jealousy of not having a partner? But if you’re watching someone so without shame that they’d have sex with a step sibling, the viewer doesn’t have to think about their own needs and issues as much. They get to be more “pure” when comparing themselves to incestuous siblings while still getting off.

    Theres also probably something people find hot about taboo shit in general too. Maybe it’s as simple as “Stranger is to Secret-sex-in-public-porn as Known-person is to Step-sibling-porn”.

    But I’m ace, so what the fuck do I know.

I don't really have the time or resources to spend on language learning at the moment, but if I could prepare for next year or the year after with an audio tape on a commute, it might help a bit if the learning device is suitable?

No need to look any further into it besides the wholly truthful police report. The words crash and accident have very different legal meanings. This is just a presumed accident, but a definite deadly wreck.

  • I have been using an open source 3d printed design for a bit and they’re the most comfortable headphones I’ve used. All the components together cost around $150 if I’m remembering correctly (not including the cost of the 3d printer and soldering iron). Adding an in-line mic shouldn’t be an issue if this project seems doable for you.

  • So we’re to show no authority against billionaires and their enforcers (police) and validators (law workers/politicians) because it might go too far? Slippery slope claims tend to just reinforce the status quo since it stops people from doing anything functional. The status quo is definitively authoritarian.

    Not saying that it has to, but is there an example of “without being generally authoritarian” out there in the wild somewhere? Because imo every country on earth uses authority to uphold some class structure and my country, even if we had all the things we wanted to make us happier (affordable housing, free medical care and education, public transit, etc) it would still show authority over the global south to maintain itself.

  • My father in law is the very model of a modern major liberal and often inserts his opinions about human nature and how evil the enemies of Amerikkka are any chance he gets. I keep saving comments by cowbee to use as responses to him and the last few times I’ve done it, it has stopped him in his tracks, immediately changing the subject. I swear, there’s something about how cowbee responds that works really well on a certain kind of people.

  • I have a modded iPod video as well as a Fiio Snowsky Echo Mini. Both work pretty well for me, though both have obnoxious flaws. The iPod can technically play FLAC files through the Rockbox OS, but it's wildly sluggish with high-bitrate songs, sometimes even crashing the device in the process. The Echo Mini has an issue with some(?) FLAC files, playing them about 20% slower and at a lower pitch than it's supposed to, but only for a couple japanese albums (I can't find anyone else online with this issue, so it might just be something affecting me). Playlist management is kind of a pain on both, but the scroll wheel of the ipod is vastly superior to the buttons on the Echo Mini.
