TIL what a spotted lanternfly was, they’re an invasive species in many places and are spreading. While they aren’t directly harmful to humans, they can cause a bunch of damage to plants, which include the ones we as humans tend to enjoy being able to eat. They’re considered kill on sight, because many of the places they’re spreading to don’t have predators to keep them in check (on top of the fact that invasive species throw local ecosystems out of whack).

Ah now that you mention that name a bell rings. Don’t think we have them here which might explain my unawareness. I’ll keep an eye out regardless. Thank you internet stranger.

Spiders? There are no spiders here, we released snakes who ate them! What? Oh there are no snakes here, we released crocodiles who ate them. What, … You don’t want to know what happened to the crocodiles?

hey, no one thought you were a bot. The joke is that the guy didn’t know anything about what you were talking about about so he pretends that he has a friend that is curious and asks you to explain for the friend instead of for himself.

Like he wanted you to explain to him but he was too embarrassed to asked for the explanation without the fake friend excuse.

Or maybe that user really is a bot, posting screenshots of a conversation with an obvious bot to throw off the suspicion that it is a bot because the LLM predicted “they think I’m a bot” after feeding in that message.

See how the obvious LLM labeled contempt as frustration in the 2nd response?

Lmao this is the dumbest possible response. Your brain has already become soup and LLMs haven’t even been around for very long.

Yes! One of the few things I will immediately kill on sight. Them and mosquitoes. Wasps are much cooler than people give them credit for, and obligatory “spiders are bros”.

Looks like it’s invasive anywhere that isn’t China or Vietnam, and has managed to be a problem for a few countries with several more concerned about it becoming a problem

    I’mma say it’s a toss up.

The colors in the young lady’s top, (I hope it’s a top. The fabric is busy for a dress), really set off her skin tones and her dark hair. The shiny dangly in the ear also looks good. This mix of black and red tones are very nice together. And the white splashes really makes all the colors pop. Paired with a nice looser fitting pair of slacks, maybe something in a lighter tan, and open-top shoes that pull their color from the top. Overall, a good look for a young woman walking the streets of a shopping district. And hitting those boutiques, or at an outdoor table enjoying a coffee and small pastry with a friend on a fine summer’s day.

With the bug the white spots are not too much-- they are just enough. The way they are placed against the black down the legs and aligned in two rows across the back along the black stripes on that brownish red body really gives the bug the look of speed. And I can only imagine what those white spots will do in flight. It’s smashing. Just smashing…

The fashion critique is brought to you by a man that spent years living with a Wife and 4 Daughters. The constant “How does this look on me” and “What do you think?” questions fired from 5 voices were a barrage when preparing to leave the house. I lost years of my life to waiting for all of them to get ready to leave and sitting patiently in stores as they “shopped”.

I know it’s a joke that you’re implying that the poster is the one on the right talking about the one on the left… but English usually defaults to left to right informational flow even outside of writing, which makes me wonder— is your native language a Right to Left language, or does it use OVS word order? Just curious.
