I mean, if there’s any group of people you can criticize for self-victimization, it’s generally not liberals, it’s right wingers or zionists.

I think this subreddit in particular is fairly loose about what they mean by liberal, too. I’m pretty sure there’s leftists on there.

Yeah, most people don’t know there’s a difference. A lot of people who may be described as leftists if you examined their views might call themselves liberals.

Certainly the right doesn’t understand the difference, so they might actually try to disarm liberals if things come to a boil.

I comment there from time to time but only to poke the bear, they’re almost uniformly liberals who flatter themselves with the “left” label

My mom (64 y/o, white) made one of those half-jokes last night about how the Trump admin is going to take away her retirement savings.

I always assume any retirement savings I accrue will be taken away. But in large sweeping actions like banks closing, inflation, pension looting, and various other financial crimes I never remember the names of.

She might not be wrong but it won’t be targeted at libs.

it’s like that scene in saving private ryan where the nazi (nazis) and Reiben (leftists) fight hand-to-hand while Upham (liberals) trudges up the stairs with a rifle in his hands, too scared to fight. Reiben dies, the nazi escapes, and Upham, frozen with fear with gun in hand, is ignored.

Then he executes a captive, once someone else has subdued and disarmed him.

i’ve seen the movie too many times… to his infinitesimal credit, upham captures thegermans and executes the captive “steamboat willie” shortly after the willie shot Captain Miller (tom hanks aka lenin)
