    A lot of the commenters here don’t seem to understand that Google is neither spineless nor scared, but that they are actively taking part in this.

    I wonder if Google and other American companies maintain lists of changes mandated by the terrible tangerine turd, so they can quickly reverse those changes.

      Google implements names via, in the US, direct reference from the GNIS database. If/when we get rid of Trump, all we need to do is update GNIS with those changes (which are indeed recorded by the BGN / USGS). Literally just need to update a few GIS references to fix this.

      MapQuest already said they aren’t changing the name. Bing hasn’t said anything but it still says Lake Ontario for me in the US.
