Hello everyone. Hope you all have had a good week and have been keeping cool in the ongoing heatwave. This week i wrapped up my NG+ of Persona 3 reload, having successfully maxed all social links, completed the compendium, and beat the secret boss fight. I overall really liked my experience with P3, and I think I will definitely check out the P4 remake when it drops next year. I also chugged along with Elden Ring seamless co op. Hope you all have a great week ahead!
I started playing Stellaris for the first time. I avoid these types of games because I get sucked in, but I’m back baybeee!!
Also, how the heck is this game nearly 28GB for the base game / no DLC… there’s not much animation or anything
Enjoy. Stellaris is my type of game. I have quite a bit of time in it.
im making a house on minecraf
heck yeah
Check out mine

Still WIP, all the chains and stuff you see around there is for an inventory management system that is still missing a few key pieces before it works.

Whoaa that’s so cute
thats atleast 3 blocks i think
still plugging away at the elden ring DLC but i’m valuing my time most of all. if i can’t get a boss in ~5 tries out comes the mimic tear and gold summon signs; my run is already at like 95 hours or something and i am f a t i g u e d.
Beat the firework boss in death stranding 2, probably some of the coolest lighting effects i’ve seen ever in that level. grinding out some highways in it otherwise, can’t believe it’s a Car Good game

still waiting for paradox to unfuck civilian ship automation in the latest patch so I haven’t really touched stellaris in awhile.
also downloaded Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, not because I thought it would be a good game, but because Fuck Denuvo and v38 cracked it. Very pretty game but otherwise quite hollow with odd pacing.
How does AssCreed Shadows compare to Ghost of Tsushima?
I thought AC was more fun to play but Ghost has peak vibes for some things, I just couldn’t stand the completely overblown fixation on honor. It’s a klingon level caricature, and I get that’s the point (even in game to some extent) but my god…
I feel like the research done for GoT was a bunch of dudes binging chanbara movies (couldn’t be me
) and trying to write based on that. The fact that it had a “Kurosawa visual mode” that was just grayscale and film grain or something like that was telling.Kinda crap story, but it was a pretty game with solid vibes like you said.
haven’t played ghost of tsushima so idk but it’s the same asscreed slop with the same dogshit filler sidequests. i’m sure it’ll also have shitty scaling so that when i’m level 55 with a ton of crazy shit all the basic enemies will have massively inflated health pools/stats. can’t comment on the story since i’m barely 5 hours in but i’m not expecting anything that wild
really their MO hasn’t changed in years with these games
Yasuke being a protag made it seem kinda neat, but you’re definitely right. I didn’t bother to finish the Egypt one, despite the setting being cool. I’m guessing Shadows is 90% the exact same with a different setting.
I played through Ghost of Tsushima and enjoyed it pretty well for a mass market open world action game. If you bounce off Shadows (and still want some chanbara action), I’d give it a shot.
Yasuke is huge and cool as fuck so they at least did him justice
I played a video game for more than an hour or so for the first time in months. Had 3 hours where I had to be in the house and on call, but with all the family out and all the house jobs done.
So I’ve been playing Pacific Drive.
I tried it when it came out when I was visiting an extended family member, but bounced off it hard.
I’m liking it a lot more this time. It feels like it’s been patched and tightened up a lot compared to back then and the really granular difficulty and accessibility settings are great (even though I’ve barely used them except to help with my slight motion sickness I sometimes get when playing). I kind of love the vibes of it now that I don’t feel like I’m actively fighting the game anymore.
I too have played some Pacific Drive. It’s a very chill game. But I will say that the discussion of it and the narrative really overplay how much time you are in the car vs doing other things. Sure you are looting stuff so you can build stuff for your car, but in a 20 minute gaming session I’m maybe in the car for 4 or 5 minutes.
I bounced off of it because I was expecting a sci fi driving game, but like you said it’s mostly scavenging outside of the car.
I have that outer space rally game and that Star Wars racing game to possibly fill the scifi driving/racing game hole in my heart in the near future lol.
That upcoming game might be the first Star Wars thing I ever buy because despite actively being disinterested in a Star War my heart has craved a new burnout - with tracks please, I know people love Burnout Paradise but it’s not for me - for decades at this point and it’s apparently that but space bikes or whatever from much of the old Burnout team.
Open world racing games were a mistake lol. I still like them every now and then, but man it’s a bummer when Forza is just Horizon now.
Diablo and baldurs gate dark alliance. Finished pragmata also
Still playing psobb
What class you playing?
Ranger, Racaseal, playing on this vanilla psobb server I found called kiyomizu.
I played a Ramarl when I last played PSO: it was split screen local play with some people in my college dorm. I remember grinding together for the Frozen Shooter - good times lol.
I played couch coop with my cousin back on the gamecube when we where kids, we didn’t make it very far though.
Star Wars: Jedi Survivor on my aging PC. From what I’ve heard, it runs like shit on good PCs. I have some mods installed to make it run on my shitty PC, but I have to fight crashes and other performance issues.
It’s fun (like the first one), but Jesus Christ you think a AAA developer could have the budget to optimize a game.
I’m about to go 0-6 in the Blood Bowl World Cup

So recently I started playing a Total Warhammer 3 campaign with two buddies in coop a 3player campaign.
We’ll probably keep playing this campaign over the next few weekends, so thats something I have to look forward to.
Besides that, Im pondering whether I want to put more time into EU5 or Stellaris. Im new to EU5 but a veteran when it comes to Stellaris. Im also waiting for an update for Distant Worlds 2, which is coming on Wednesday.
I got vic3 recently, and I’m not sure if I like it. I think it might not have the depth of simulation I’m looking for. I hear EU5 is the same type of simulation, but on launch it wasn’t quite on par with EU4 and vic3. How is EU5 doing now? Should I try it or stick with vic3 for now?
So the truth is I havent played EU5 a lot (yet)…EU5 to my knowledge is steadily improving but not “there” yet. Between EU5 and Victoria 3 I would recommend Vicky 3 right now. (Vicky3 as of right now is just in the better state). I would put some real time into Vicky 3 and see if you like it…or not.
Getting back into imperator rome of all things extremely obsessed currently.
Oh if I may recommend something. The Imperator: Invictus Mod is really good and adds a lot of content while still keeping the spirit of the vanilla game (afaik)
Continuing to destroy my sanity by solo queuing CS2
Just started act 5 of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Getting a little bored/frustrated but I’m determined to finish it.
Decided to go from Azata to Legend at the last minute, though I haven’t bought the Shifter DLC and I don’t know what else would work with my Elemental Rampager Druid for my 20 extra levels. I’m hoping either Instinctual Warrior Barbarian or Demonslayer Ranger will allow me to tear ass through the rest of the story with minimal resistance.
Or I could load an old save and do Gold Dragon and only lose an hour or two of progress, but I’m already at 180 hours and I kinda just want to finish this game and move on to something else.
Lich was the only cool path imo
Path of Exile 3.29 Curse of the Allflame comes out this Friday July 24 @ 4 pm eastern time.
https://www.pathofexile.com/allflame
There’s a new scion ascendancy which can have a mercenary companion that empowers your character or fights for you. On the high end for builds, strength stack juggernaut is not nerfed from last league.
If you have never played the game before, search ‘pohx righteous fire chieftain league start’ on youtube for a new player guide.

Finished Devil May Cry 4. It has some really high highs (Credo) and some really low lows (the Savior). I hate the amount of input reading in the Dante boss fight, coupled with his 0-frame response time it’s just completely ridiculous. It feels less like you’re fighting a boss and more like you just trial and error until you find the exploits in the code, which is not fun. On the other end, the fucking stage lighting and monologuing during the Agnus intro absolutely rules. I mostly like Nero’s moveset, Snatch perfectly fixes the problem of “what the fuck do I do after using Stinger to initiate”, and the Buster rules, especially all the special boss grabs. HOWEVER the fucking exceed mechanic is dogshit. Hmm, will I learn the proper frame-perfect timing for EX-MAX or will I just mash LT and hope for the best in a game that’s like 15 hours long? There are also too many cutscenes and agonizingly slow menus.
Started Devil May Cry 5, about halfway through. So far the bosses have been extremely underwhelming, and the three Urizen fights (so far!) have each been more garbo than the last, not helped by the fact that you lose in a cutscene anyway every time. Seems like the scoring is way more forgiving, because I have like 50% of missions S-ranked. Nero’s still fun enough, though the way the Breakers work is kinda lame. The fact the newest one you pick up goes in the top of the list instead of the bottom means that the back half of my magazine has never changed. Also no sick Buster grabs. V is horrendous and I don’t know how he made it into the game. It feels like the most efficient way to play is to just mash X and Y simultaneously, which kinda defeats the entire point of the game. Dante’s moveset is fantastic, and his weapons have been
after
. Balrog is just fun, switching between punches and kicks (aka blow mode and suck mode) rules and the overheat mechanic is WAY more fun than Nero’s Exceed.spoiler
I can’t believe they added the fucking motorcycle scene from DMC3 as a weapon and I was full
when the title card popped up for Legendary Devil Sword: Dante and Sin Devil Trigger.Other misc thoughts: Devil Trigger is an amazing combat song, sadly Subhuman and whatever V’s is are both bad. On a similar note, I will play Vergil’s campaign for the first time because I want to listen to Bury the Light. Nico’s fun, though she feels like she comes out of nowhere and I would’ve preferred if Kyrie made a repeat appearance. Who’s to say she couldn’t have become useful in the intervening time?
As always, more Warframe, the quest for everything continues. Some misc tech problems on Linux. Seems like the game runs really, really badly (25fps instead of solid 60), but I can’t tell why as settings are identical to my windows install. Also load times seem much worse, they’ve gone from near-instant to like 30 seconds every time. Might have to do some tweaks, but I also have a bigger problem: my preferred podcast program has to run in Wine and it keeps crashing

Tried to get Total Warhammer 3 working on Linux. Native, the game runs but in campaign everything is solid black except for UI and settlements, which is bizarre. Switched to Proton and it seems good, ran the battle benchmark and was getting good FPS, but loaded up a campaign and it was getting like 20fps which is ridiculous. Trying to change graphics while in-game crashed my whole PC and that was when I gave up for the day and started DMC5. Also from what little testing I did, it seemed like I wasn’t seeing any load time reductions from my NVMe drive

For Total Warhammer 3 the native linux build is outdated and ass. Just use proton versions https://www.protondb.com/app/1142710
Some modern Total War games like Three Kingdoms and Pharaoh are well optimized… Total Warhammer 3 is not cause it uses basically the same engine as Total Warhammer 1 from 2016.
So if you have a weaker PC Total Warhammer can be pretty demanding. (My PC basically just brute forces it into great performance)
Yep, I swapped to proton after everything was a black screen lol.
Ever since i’ve finished Super Lesbian Animal RPG last week, which is a very cute and cozy little game that is just what it sounds like, i’ve been obsessing over Slay The Princess.
spoiler
I keep getting killed by the princess a lot and find myself feeling very normal about it. I keep collecting new vessels like Tall Floating Dom That Makes Me Kneel For Her And Promises To Make Me Her Pet, Stabby Catgirl, More Monstrous Catgirl That Makes Me Act Like A Possum And Vores Me, Very Hot Even Taller Demongirl That Fights Me To The Death and many more. This better not give me any new fetishes.
The Narrator:
Oh great, it did give her new fetishes. You are not supposed to treat this like a dating sim. Do you have any idea how many worlds you have doomed because of your fixation on monstergirls? Eugh.
Apart from that, i have started a little letsplay of Signalis for a friend of mine who’s been reposting fanart of it for a while. Imagine resident evil was about what if Alien but instead of Weyland-Yutani you have a Chinese DDR slinging ships with cute robot girls to the edge of the solar system with a mass driver where they run into eldritch horrors or smth. Apperently it was made by a German trans woman? It definitely feels like a game made by a German trans woman. The German trans woman playing it and the German trans woman watching her get killed by space zombies like it so far, it has lots of adorable propaganda posters with cute robot girls in realsozialistische uniforms and lockpicking puzzles and a really tense industrial atmosphere.
