Assata Shakur, born on this day in 1947, is a revolutionary socialist and former member of the Black Liberation Army (BLA) who became the first woman to be added to the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorists list in 2013.

spoiler

Shakur grew up in New York City and Wilmington, North Carolina. She became involved in political activism at Borough of Manhattan Community College and City College of New York, participating in sit-ins and civil rights protests.

After graduating from college, Shakur briefly joined the Black Panther Party, leading its Harlem chapter. She left the Panthers and joined the Black Liberation Army, a black power group that was inspired by the Viet Cong and Algerian resistance movements and waged guerrilla warfare against the U.S. government from 1970 to 1981. Shakur was one of the targets of the FBI’s COINTELPRO program.

After being involved in a shootout with New Jersey police officers, Shakur was convicted on multiple counts of assault and murder and sentenced to life in prison. In 1979, BLA members freed her in a bloodless prison escape.

Shakur successfully sought political asylum in Cuba, where she died on September 25, 2025, at the age of 78

  • The way Touareg people get orientalized is annoying, for anyone who doesn’t know how it is, a lot of times when Touaregs are mentioned the same line is used “did you know that in Touareg society men cover up and women don’t”, backhanded compliment that reduces their culture into “opposite day ayrabs”.

Every single of these posts or mentions or videos plays exactly like this one right here:

      Related.

A friend of mine was sharing this music with from ‘Tinariwen’ which is a Touareg musical group. I guess they are somewhat popular.

Well it turns out they are openly supporting the NATO-backed terrorist “Azawad Liberation Front” 🫠

I feel its connected to this weird orientalism where they are legible primarily because they are opposed to AES. Idk it just seemed relevant

This Black woman I was crushing on is now saying the whole “Black Americans are Indigenous to the Americas” shit now.

Yeah, never mind, I think I’m done here.

It’s gotten traction that has led to a “vocal minority” kind of dynamic, but trust me, most Black Americans definitely don’t believe in this BS. At least I hope that is the case.

She believes that all Indigenous people of all lands of the world are “Black” and that Black people are the “original” people of every region on Earth. She believes that most Black Americans are not of African descent but instead fall under some “Aboriginal Black American” kind of category. She thinks these “Aboriginal Black Americans” lived alongside those who are more commonly known as Indigenous Americans way before the transatlantic slave trade. She pointed to Melanesians and Aboriginal Australians as “proof” of this in a way to basically argue “See, Blackness isn’t only from Africa!” I can’t with this. I genuinely liked her but hell nah. I AM AN AFRICAN.

I’m on and off with Hasan Piker but every time I see the crtitisism he gets being over “Uyghur genocide denialism”, “Pro-Putin”, and “being against the Democratic Party” tells me that it’ll be a very long time (if ever) before Americans widely adopt a principled leftist stance. It kind of vindicates BadEmpanada, who’s viewed as “insane” by most of them.

Edit: I’m on and off in that I’ve liked how he opened his audience up to Lenin and anti-imperialist ideas. I have not been happy with his current sheepdogging for the Democratic Party lately.

Hasan went to bat for GraHHam Platner, minimized the war criminality of it, and glazes liberal zionists. I can’t even consider him a leftist of any stripe.

If a western “progressive” isn’t anti-imperialist, they’re not leftist, they’re a liberal at best (and that’s not a good thing at all! The project of liberalism is welded to genocide). If their socialism isn’t internationalist in nature, then is it… national socialism?

My larger point is that if someone like him is considered extreme than Americans have a much larger mountain to overcome.

And it vindicates BadEmpanada who says Americans are too selfish to ever let leftism firmly take root. It’s a bitter pill but he’s largely correct

It’s because post-apocalyptic fiction are modern Wild West stories. And like cowboy westerns, there’s paranoia indigenous people will fight back against settlers. The bunker chuds have an imagination rooted in what their ancestors did, which is genocide and colonialism.

Other cultures who experienced colonialism went through actual apocalyptic conditions. They know what societal collapse looks like.

Since Ziohran dropped his “I lied UwU” video, he’s vowed to arrest Hamas leaders, AYE-COOOOOOOOONDEMN-ed 10/7 (again), and publicly mourned the death of a child-killing war criminal

I’ve noticed that it’s been all quiet on the Copdani front on HB recently. I guess we’re at the “umm why do you care so much about him?” stage of sophistry.

Can’t wait for all the crackers on here to fall head over heels for the next AOC clone!

I really think people need to realize that this DSA left" they’re so fond of is just another wing of the Democrat Party, i.e., liberals. It’s amazing how many self-proclaimed Marxists kept earning fell-for-it-again-awards when it comes to this subject.

Zohran is a goofy ass clown for pretending he ever had the power to arrest Bibi and giving life to a ridiculous larp, but he did not “vow to arrest Hamas leaders” at least not the way you’re describing it

He was responding to a rancid zionist “journalist” pulling a whatabout and asking if he would arrest Hamas and understandably instead of larping, inviting legal censure and screaming “Glory to Hamas!” he deflected by pointing out the ICC also has warrants out for Hamas leaders, thereby deflating what is in fact a dangerous legal smear for a Brown Muslim man in America and exposing the hypocrisy of the zionist ghoul who asked that question

Damn I wonder when all the (cracker) Copdani stans here will have to say about him admitting he can’t arrest Netanyahu. I wonder how they will reconcile this with their previous drooling over this major campaign promise. Oh wow, more “he never said that” gaslighting and lying. What a surprise!

Also, won’t do anything about the illegal land sales but is happy to create speech restriction zones around where they’re being conducted and sicc the cops on protestors.

    Actions speak louder than words

Can’t wait for the next wave of “ummmm why do you care so much about the NYC mayor sweaty???” since they have no actual counterargument

They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.

Honestly putting out that statement that he can’t arrest Netanyahu was a ridiculous stunt. And I honestly don’t even really care all that much, for the most part. Its the fact that, as you pointed out, created that buffer zone for protests against the sale of stolen land. Not only that, early on he kept on feeding into the growing “antisemitism” narrative. And after all this time he still has Zionists down his neck. Every news story I saw on his nothing burger statement had interviews with a bunch of malding Zionists.

Also it shouldn’t go without saying, but it also feeds into the growing mainstream Democrat narrative that Netanyahu is the entire problem and not the entity itself.
