But also, strange choice from that dude to argue that AmeriKKKa conquering Indigenous societies is somehow better (?!?) than merely stealing from them. Like no actually, conquering people is bad and should not be venerated.

The immigrants aren’t taking your job. Your boss is taking your job and giving it to the immigrants.

Yeah, but lizard brain racists genuinely see immigration as an intentional invasion by an enemy tribe, so not actually that clever.

Does he not think they’re native? I’m guessing he’s going back quite some time to wangle that one. ‘You’ve only had 20000 years, you cheeky upstarts.’

I’m not going to find a source because it would require me to visit those sites. But yes, that is exactly what they think. They call it second migration theory or something like that and it goes a little bit like this: Native Americans came over on the Bering land bridge so when Europeans came over on the Mayflower etc. it wasn’t colonialism it was just more migration!

This theory of course completely ignores that the Bering land bridge may or may not have ever actually been uncovered and that if it was it was about 10,000 years ago while there is ample evidence that the Americas have been populated for well over 50,000 years.

The Ishak had a story about where you have to run when the ice caps melt. It lines up perfectly with modern predictions about how high sea levels rise in a full melt. 10,000 years is some colonizer bullshit.

Conquering and literally fucking over all your treaties year and year, decade after decade, generational trauma inflicted on people?

    Germany was conquered.

First Nations has been a endless cycle of genocide and cultural warfare.

Pssst America is faithless and untrustworthy.

That’s still being conquered. It’s part of being conquered. The first Nations aren’t the first or last people to sign treaties and agreements with more powerful group that were never honored. I hate how myopic people are about history, assuming their suffering is special, within human history.

The shit the Golden Horde did across Asia and western Europe, only a couple centuries earlier, is equal to if not more horrific, like completing multiple genocides in the process, then breeding their DNA into the entire fucking human species through decades of mass raping across continents.

Shouldn’t we try for better? Just because that’s how it’s been doesn’t mean that’s how it has to be
