  • What fucking bubble? Who am I a useful idiot to? People that are against this shit fucking legislation? Good. I'll gladly oppose this garbage at every turn, and anyone who isn't against it can go fuck themselves.

  • I don't know the first thing about getting into consulting, and honestly not sure if I have any skills that would be applicable. At least not for anything that would pay well enough to get through the dry periods.

  • Doesn't matter if they're the one proposing it, they're arguing in favor of it, that makes them part of the problem. People like that saying "well, this gross invasion of privacy isn't that bad for me" are why we have so much invasive bullshit going on in the first place.

  • It's not that weird. The most fun I ever had at a job was working in the tire center at Walmart.

  • No. My jobs have never been "sparkly". I hate every move up the ladder more than the last one. If they're not boring they're stressful (not in the "oh this is an exciting challenge" way). I go to work for the check and nothing more. The shit I do in my free time is what's "sparkly".

  • Dedicated circuit(s) with a manual switch from mains to inverter, I’m guessing?

That's how one of the hospitals I worked at did it. Probably wasn't a manual switch though.

  • It changes nothing. This is just to get their foot in the door and when it doesn't work they're going to escalate. I'm not interested in giving them a fucking inch. Big tech collects enough data on us as it is, we don't need to make it easier for them.

They already have a giant list of pedos they aren't dealing with. If they want me to trust their intentions are to protect children they need to start with that.

  • Read his fucking post. He said he wants this so he doesn't have to put in ID every time his kids want to use a new service online. What do you call that if not laziness?

  • But between setting up the birthdate when creating my children’s local account on their computers, and having to send a copy of their ID to every platform under the sun, I’d easily chose the former.

That's your decision. The rest of us shouldn't be forced into it just because you're to lazy to watch what your kids are doing online. If a website thinks they need to my my age they can ask me and I'll decide if I want to provide it or not. I don't want my OS just handing it out to anyone who asks.

  • It's literally how these things work. No one gets rich off meme coins except the people selling at the start.

  • Beat the judge while they're at it.

  • I have them where I've forgotten my locker combination or don't have my class schedule. The thing is I actually do remember my last locker combination because I use it as a pin for something so I'm not even sure what my subconscious is on about with that one.

  • You own a lot of buttons and knobs sir.

  • Sure. One or two stupid things here or there is not an issue but you can take how they respond to it into account. Do they get pissed off and double down when confronted with a mistake or do they try to be better? Even being stupid isn't in itself a bad thing if the stupid person acknowledges the issue and stays in their lane instead of, I don't know, getting themselves elected president of the united states.

  • No, it's your body, if you're not comfortable then you get to draw the line. The fact he argued with you about it is a red flag IMO.

  • Yeah there's a bunch of women I associate with that find me attractive and have either expressed interest in me or told me they would be if not for various external factors. I don't really do anything besides be in pretty good physical shape and go out and be chill towards everyone. It's not too difficult. Trying too hard is where I always ran into trouble.

  • I spend my life wondering why people think about this shit so much instead of judging people for things that actually matter like how stupid they are.

  • I used some chinese partition tool to rearrange my partitions years ago that did this. It was sketchy as fuck but it worked where I couldn't find another tool that would do what I needed. Can't remember exactly what the problem was but something to do with moving/extending the windows partition that the usual ones I knew of wouldn't do.

  • My media server has more shit I want to watch on it than Netflix does, it's not even close. Yeah it took some time to build my library but it's paid off. Even starting out just queue up a bunch of shit ahead of time and it will be ready to go when you go to watch it. I personally watch shows through the week as they take longer to get through and are more adaptable to the amount of free time I have. Then I queue up any new movies for the weekend and new shows as I hear about them. It's not difficult to stay ahead of the curve with some minimal planning. My backlog will take me months to get through. Also your media library will never remove shit before you're done and you're not limited to just what the streaming services you have are currently offering.
