While I agree with the underlying sentiment, this is actually false.

The primaries NOW for upcoming Senate and Congress seats are just as, if not more important than the inevitable outcome in November.

If you need any proof, just look at the outsized coverage every single DSA-linked candidate has gotten since winning their respective primaries.

Absolutely. I will vote in the primaries, for the furthest left candidate that runs.

I will do the same in November. It’s the ONLY way we move the goalposts to the left. Not voting is not an option

Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good. We’re not going to get perfect. Human beings are deeply flawed creatures. I’ll settle for less evil.

The primaries are the battle that matters. The Democratic establishment is the enemy.

It’s funny that it’s producing a Barbara Streisand effect, which by the way what story was she trying to bury? It kind of got buried by the South Park nonsense

Oh yeah, I was in middle school so I didn’t really catch the news parts of that story, I just thought South Park was cool because it was a cartoon with bad words and Kenny always died. It’s too bad they became libertarians but at least they take the piss out of Trump

It’s kind of a wash. These are the guys that acted like a vote between W and Kerry was the difference between a douche and a shit sandwich.

They also mock Gore’s thing on global warming.

They give a lot of fuel for the “both sides” bullshit. Yes, they provide some funny satire of the right, sometimes.

If you don’t vote, you’re voting for the winner.

That’s why 2/3rds of Americans voted for Trump.

If you choose not to vote rather. I know plenty of people who can’t, mostly because they are young. The others haven’t gotten all of their rights restored after a felony conviction or are noncitizens. But if I use your rule, I get to ignore all of the rest of the world regarding politics because they didn’t vote in my local elections

Oh yeah? So the democrats refusing to save the country matters then? Fuck all the way off. I do vote, but you are way off base here, the problem is not a lack of shaming, but a lack of populism in the party.

Most people will be able to vote. It’s a matter of what they do with those ballots.

The people that won’t be able to vote are those they removed from the rolls last minute, or in swing district with high Democrat concentrations. They’ll send in ICE, start arresting people and causing chaos, then either provoke a real response or if that isn’t happening foment a false flag response, to shut down those polling places completely. Anyone slightly brown or tanned ICE is going to bully away from voting. It doesn’t have to be in a ton of places, just in a few dozen key districts.

Most voting machine manufacturers have been purchased by billionaires and private equity. They’ve been telegraphing an intention to cheat in every way possible for months. They intend to do lots with mail in ballots, intimidate at the polls, close stations, gerrymander, flip digital votes and probably institute martial law or frame up some democrats for their own massive fraud scandal.

Even if by some miracle they fuck up all of that most of the DNC are AIPAC controlled. Make a better plan, voting alone will not save you.

There was a headline yesterday or so that the FBI was sending 250 agents to “investigate” Fulton County GA (i.e., Atlanta) for nonexistent “voter fraud.” They are definitely gearing up to try to disenfranchise Atlantans.

Adding onto the “preventing people from voting” thing… y’know in the USA anyone can be arrested for up to 72 hours under “Involuntary Psychiatric Holds”, without any standard of probable cause. You have no trial, no recourse and there is not even a bench trial (generally cops have to bring you in front of a judge within 24 hours of being arrested).

I’m not saying that will happen, but it’s a possibility we should keep in mind. These laws exist at the state/local level from what I understand, so it’s something we could have reversed before that election. If anyone has ideas on how to do that, now would be a good time to get that momentum going before November.

Grinding hope to dust is not helping. What you say may or may not be true, you don’t know. Plus the condescension tells me you see yourself as wise but the truly wise would not be condescending. Carry on Mister Smuggy.

Agreed. Shits gerrymandered to high hell, results will be overturned, and those are the nicer things.

Most people don’t realize (or want to ignore) how bad things are right now and they seem to believe “just vote” will fix things - we are so far past that right now.

I am not saying “don’t vote”, absolutely do. But more will need to be done beyond that. And don’t take that as hopeless…just, vote, and then go further.
