Seriously. I strive to embrace that 00’s way of thinking where “the internet is not a real place.” It should be a fun hobby and additive to your life, not central, and it’s definitely not worth letting it bait you into drama or the hysterics of the week.

Arguments online are fine, it’s the constant news reminding me of the shitty state of the world that brings me down.
I’m tempted to make an alternate Lemmy account, so I can keep this one (where I’m subscribed to news communities) and another that’s just light-hearted stuff, with all news communities blocked.
I just need a break from it all. The shit storm is never ending.

It can help to wake up in the morning. Gets the blood flowing.
But reading comments is the only thing that interrupts the doomscrolling.
That feeling when you reply to a bunch of highly charged comments just before going to bed, then wake up to reply notifications. 😔
