So I made out my grocery order today and loaded up on rice and beans, lean cut of meat, and some spinach and mushrooms. Prices of eggs is down so I got a dozen. I’m trying to follow the high protein diet they had me on in rehab to try and lose some weight.
I already do intermittent fasting, I usually stop eating by 9 pm, then head off to bed at 10 or 11 pm, and sleep through to 10 am the next day.
idk we shall see if I lose some weight? I don’t have a scale or anything which is funny, trying to lose pounds.

cw: discussion of caloric restriction
Not eating breakfast will help a lot.
Doing something similar myself. One thing that was cool and beneficial was doing a 72h water fast. It’s a great exercise in willpower and completely redefined my relationship with food.
A big issue I had was just eating whatever the heck whenever the heck with zero discipline or regard to why I was doing it. The fast was awesome for breaking those habits. Now if I feel hungry I can confidently tell myself, I can handle being hungry until my next meal, skip the chips. I have been way hungrier than this before.
There’s also good health benefits from autophagy which peaks between 48 and 72 hours of fasting.
Breakfast skip is an easy win because it’s only 2-3 hours of discomfort and the extra 500 kcal makes a huge difference. Especially if like you, you sleep through it
Thanks for the encouragement
Good luck out there. There’s an entire industry that’s been built to addict us to unhealthy food.
Feel free to DM me any time if you need a word of encouragement. Helps to have allies in the fight

I love eating a few slices of bread from the store, still being hungry, and seeing the absurd amount of calories I consumed after viewing the nutrition label
