You just aren’t eating enough chilies and beans. Once you eat as many as I do your body just gets used to it.
If my date isn’t used to eating a diet that consists mostly of chilies and beans it probably isn’t going to work out. 😔
Even a single pickled jalapeño that isn’t even spicy gives me hot girl tummy issues. I’ll be eating peppers ranging from spicy Korean red pepper powder to Thai bird eyes and usually be as right as rain, but Latin American spicy just wrecks me 9 different ways to sunday
I suspect between the tomatoes and the vinegar and the citrus it’s more acidic, which hits some tummies different.
Although the only pepper to ever really hurt my tummy was bhut jolokia. It’s just so sweet and delicious!
I went on a first date with a vegan once, and she took me to this great restaurant and I had an amazing grilled portabella burger. That day is the day I learned what eating a massive amount of mushrooms does to my stomach… I barely got home in time.

Okay, I have never had gastrointestinal issues from spices, and I’m white fyi.
Is it like, actually a thing? I always kind of assumed people blamed the peppers when it’s really more all the fiber.
Spices can cause heartburn and stomach acid reflux issues, but I’ve never had any issues downstairs from it
