A Conservative MP is calling on Identity and Culture Minister Steven Guilbeault to apologize to U.S.-based Christian musician Sean Feucht after the permits for recent concerts in venues overseen by Parks Canada were revoked.

    Conservatives have been behind every bullshit moral panic for well over 100 years. Hell, within the last few weeks we’ve seen them coerce Visa and MasterCard into banning video games they don’t like.

    If this guy doesn’t meet the standards to perform at a government facility then that’s what it is. There are a lot of bands I like that I wouldn’t expect to he approved either. Imagine the conservative outrage if Nine Inch Nails were to perform Hersey in public (especially when you contrast the music with how nice Trent Reznor seems to be).

    His permits were revoked citing safety concerns first of all.

    And the Charter of Rights and Freedoms has no bearing at all on permitting. He held his gathering unmolested by government. Canada has freedom of speech and his was respected (despite being a foreigner). He was not silenced. He was not persecuted. He is not owed an apology.

    Another completely dishonest conservative politician drumming up hate to get attention. Disgusting.

    Well, Ms. Conservative MP, the government should only consider apologizing for that after you’re done apologizing, on behalf of your party, to every queer person or other minority who has been or might have been harmed by policies said party has advocated or put into place. Individually. By name.

    We’ll wait.

          I fail to see what is wrong with your comment though. I read it several times. Perhaps others are misunderstanding what you said. Or I am I guess.
