I live in an area that gets a ton of visitors and I often have to make sure people understand the pet names they’re hearing are for my yorkie (Things like ‘cutie bootie’ or ‘sugar booger’.)
Honestly, probably not a bad way to pick up women.
Mortified by the concept of catcalling a woman and a good relationship with his cat? Yup, those are two very green flags.

The cat knew he was in trouble and was like: OK, this ONE TIME I will come running to you.
And remind him of it every time the cat wanted something.
