Yep. My aunt and her kids (DAUGHTERS!) voted for trump in 2016 and I know some of them did in 2024. And they’re just so aghast at how things have turned out.

These silly fucks have damned the world (usaid), immigrants, transfolk, and millions of their fellow citizens with their inability to see past their own lies and bullshit. I wish the harms were limited to this crowd, and the pearl clutching “oh both sides are just as bad” fucks that thought gaza would be better with 4 more years of fascism.

Let me check the voting results in Florida.

    • Trump got about 56% of the popular vote.
    • 20 of 28 districts came up Trump.
    • About a third of eligible voters (and close to 40% of registered voters) didn’t bother to vote.

Yeah. Fuck all y’all motherfuckers. Suffer. Ideally in silence. Your whining is more annoying than a two year old’s.

“20 of 28 districts came up Trump.”

So if you look at where the populations pockets are, you can see that it’s mostly blue voters. Gerrymandering has made it so joe blow in the middle of nowhere and his inbred family has more significance than an area with 3-6 million. Sure there’s idiots everywhere.

“About a third of eligible voters (and close to 40% of registered voters) didn’t bother to vote.”

This one is interesting because you’re essentially criticizing a nursing home. Just because they’re registered doesn’t mean they’re, as I would say eligible, and by that I mean people with memory issues, Alzheimer’s, dementia, people that simply barely function.

If someone asks you if they’ve taken their pills four times in an hour, do you really think they’re eligible voters? Have you seen a sample ballot? It’s not A or B. Asking someone in their 60/70/80/90 age range to research the ballot is akin to asking a child to do the same.

“Trump got about 56% of the popular vote.”

This is where you’re not understanding the whole issue, setting aside an uneducated public. A good majority of the voter base will go based on a circle jerk of whoever says what first at the nursing home.

I mean don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty of idiots here. But this is a state where mostly old people live. Personally I don’t trust most. It’s a coin toss on if you meet someone still mentally functional and good luck changing their opinion if they’re not; and it has nothing to do with politics at a certain age.

And to add to this mess. The counter party proudly chanted how she supports isFake in a rally. Maybe tariffs wouldn’t have happened, but the real cluster-fuck would probably still happened.

Dude. That was parenthetical for a reason. With this one single answer, you’ve demonstrated you have the intellectual honesty of … I’m trying to find the correct simile here … of an American.

This is where you’re not understanding the whole issue, setting aside an uneducated public.

I don’t give a flying fuck what excuses you come up with, dude. I don’t care if it’s an uneducated populace, your gross ageism, or alien lizards from the fifteenth dimension. All y’all can go fuck yourselves.

It’s like people trying to tell me why a computer fucked up and deleted all my data. The reason, unless it’s an action I took, doesn’t fucking matter. The computer fucked up and deleted all my data.

If doesn’t matter why your nation is a festering shithole. What matters is that by being a festering shithole, your nation, of whom you are a member, is fucking over the rest of the world. A world that has no say in your fucking what-passes-for-democracy.

So fuck all y’all. It’s your fucking mess. YOU clean it up. Don’t demand that the rest of us “help” you. We’ve got problems of our own caused by your shitstain on the underpants of humanity.

You must be fun at parties. I guess you’re a Chinese immigrant/descendant living in Canada based on your posts? I think I’m getting a better understanding of your personality.

“I don’t give a flying fuck what excuses you come up with, dude. I don’t care if it’s an uneducated populace, your gross ageism, or alien lizards from the fifteenth dimension.”

“It’s like people trying to tell me why a computer fucked up and deleted all my data. The reason, unless it’s an action I took, doesn’t fucking matter. The computer fucked up and deleted all my data.”

This one surprised me, I guess you’re not very tech savvy. Did OneDrive delete your local data and move it to the cloud because you didn’t change the settings?

“If It doesn’t matter why your nation is a festering shithole.”

I never said it was my nation. You made some quick assumptions. I was born in another country and I’ve lived in many other countries and traveled to more.

“Don’t demand that the rest of us “help” you. We’ve got problems of our own caused by your shitstain on the underpants of humanity.”

I’m surprised that you’re not familiar with a one party system. And nobody wants your help, actually you need some help, and I’m serious because you’re having over the top anger issues. You seem to also enjoy mocking Japan a lot.

Hardcore racism noted. Mentioning Japan triggered you apparently. The best tea is from Japan anyway.

It looks like you come here to lash out your frustrations on other people. You don’t sound like a compassionate or altruistic person, which makes me sad to think there are people that have no empathy. I can imagine you’re probably a quiet and nervous person in public.

I really suggest getting some therapy. It might help you, maybe even get medication. Politics isn’t for you because it doesn’t seem like you really grasp the bigger picture and all your focus sounds like it only raises your blood pressure.

Feel free to write about your political activism and your accomplishments aside from mocking other countries.

Yeah fuck the almost half of registered voters who are actively working against them, and consistently vote against them, at great risk to ourselves while you sit on your fat, lazy ass doing fuck all. Half of the registered voters who work actively against them?

Your math ain’t mathing here, buddy. Of the 16 million Floridians registered and eligible for voting (18mil eligible minus ~216k felons), 11 million turned out.

Of that, ~6.1 million voted for Trump, and ~4.7 million votes for Kamala.

6.1 million of that ~11 million is 56%.

Now, let’s presume every Trump supporter went and voted. That means there were a total of 12 million voters against him… of which 2 million didn’t even bother to register to vote, and of the 10 million who did register, 53% didn’t bother to go and vote.

If you can’t be arsed to go and fucking vote then don’t be all high and mighty when it gets called out, and most definitely don’t claim to be actively working against Trump. The very first step to that would be to GO AND FUCKING VOTE.

Did you, “dipshit”? Turnout was, again, 11 million against 16. Trump won 5.3 million.

Therefore we can conclude, as I said above, that even if half the registered voters (so about 8 million) were indeed against Trump, half of those didn’t fucking bother to show up.

            That’s not activism, that’s laziness.

I guess when I see dictators in other countries punishing areas that aren’t compliant enough by unleashing their thugs on that area I think “damn, it sucks that the dictator is consolidating their power, this will probably only make things worse for the other countries getting attacked by that dictator,” instead of “lol eat shit, that’s what you get for not supporting the dictator I hate.” But then again I’m not a 14 year old rageposting on internet fora so I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree.

Wow… you’re super angry. That sucks for you. But if it helps, I can tell ya, yelling at people online isn’t going to help it even a little. In fact- I’ll bet you will agree that it only makes it worse.

I hope you can get that looked at in whatever country you live in.

              Best of luck!

I don’t think the typical retiree or snowbird down there gives one single fuck about this.

I imagine it’s far different for the people who actually grew up there though.

My heart aches for all of the people deported, killed, and terrorized by ICE.

For anyone confused about this comments section seeming uncharitable towards Floridians, please imagine an article about how the war in Gaza is tearing Israeli communities apart or one from 1994 about how difficult it is for Serbian families to deal with disappearances.

Americans are currently experiencing negative side effects, but they’re by no means the primary victims. We can mourn Alex Pretti and Renee Good, like we mourn Sophie Scholl and Fritz Dressel, but it’s pretty offensive to suggest that Germans as a whole between 1933-1945 were victims.

“Americans are currently experiencing negative side effects”. Oh, no! Really? Has your house been obliterated by bombing? Do you still have water, electricity, a roof over your head? Do YOU, idiomaddict, know how you’re going to feed your children tonight??

Do you want to read my comment again? Or maybe extend that quote just a little to not act in bad faith?

“[they’re] experiencing negative side effects, but they’re by no means the primary victims.” Then I compared the US to Nazi Germany and said calling them victims was offensive.

Fascism eventually turns inward and hurts the people who brought it into power. By that point it has been oppressive to everyone around them, as well as those who have resisted, for a long time.

OldCrow, I am personally terrified for my family who are all a demographic targeted by ICE, but I don’t live in the US. Should I ask about your children now or can we stay on topic?

    More virtuosic incompetence from MAGA.

Republicans have always fucked up the Hispanic vote in this country. They think all Hispanics are the same, and since they’ve always owned the Cubans, since the Cubans have always hated the Dems because JFK abandoned them at the Bay of Pigs (my Dad was part of the chopper team, waiting on the tarmac to fly into battle, when the call came in that it was called off), so they thought ALL Hispanics supported them. It never occurred to them that Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, Brazilians, Colombians, etc. are not just different from Americans, they are different from each other. They don’t consider themselves the same, any more than white people assume they are the same as Canadians or Europeans. We may have the same color skin, and even language, but that doesn’t mean we have the same beliefs.

Despite that, MAGA finally got them ALL on their side for a minute, then proceeded to abuse them like it was the 19th century. They had the chance to lock down the fast growing political block in America, but they just couldn’t resist indulging their petty bigotry, and have likely lost them forever. Even their Cuban support will permanently weaken after this.

An amazing opportunity for the Right, and they could not have squandered it worse.

florida cubans seem so laser focused on two things: further punishing cuba, and never relenting until they get their plantations in cuba restored.

46% of Latinos voted for trump in 2024. That’s still less than half. The Catholic Church is partly to blame for that too.
