There’s a lot of people who have the ability to have opinions and share them on the internet. There are shitloads more mute idiots , and not everyone who doesn’t care about what their music is from is an idiot, so they are better than the “average” person, but they still indulge in this kind of crap.

That’s not the idea. The idea is “average people and lower don’t care about music, so they put on any slop anyway. Also, people have distinct things they are good and bad at. You might have someone that’s smart in a specific field, but because they are below average in their importance of music, they also won’t give a shit either.”

They do put on background noise that isn’t ambient music and have a free Spotify account or yt account for instead
I’ve heard that there are actually people who dislike all music, but I’ve never met one. Sounds sad tho
… I guess a lot of my friends are also musicians, so my anecdotal experience might not be “average” in that department
