I know a person that will get bad cluster headaches every 6 months to a year. The episodes last about 30+ minutes, can be triggered for a month+, and can be triggered by many things. Oxygen treatment is known to stop an attack when they start, but their doctor wouldn’t prescribe it, and insurance wouldn’t cover it. They joined some online support groups and ended up taking a tab of acid that eliminated them. Not just an attack, but they haven’t had any for a couple of months since.
It’s foolish to not at the very least allow medical research and clinical trials for any substance as long as there’s evidence that it can help. If meth cured cancer, meth should be be allowed to be administered by doctors.

Well I’ll be. I didn’t know there was pharmaceutical grade meth. I was going to suggest perhaps heroin as a better example, but apparently there’s a medical version of that too.
However, my experience is living in the US where schedule 1 drugs are at least blocked for medical use in the US. I don’t know if that extends to research or not.
So heroin and LSD are banned in the US where at least heroin is allowed in some places as diamorphine.

Did MDMA fix their headache issues?
Negative, in this case it was LSD. It was just an anecdotal example of how some illegal substances mostly used for recreation can work as good if not better than many prescription or OTC drugs on the market. I’ve heard good thing about psilocybin as well for issues like depression and PTSD. Weed now being at least medically legal in many places is a testament to it’s medicinal benefits as well.
I really like seeing these types of articles, because these issues such as PTSD, depression, headaches, etc… can be absolutely debilitating, and it’s nice to see new options that can not only help, but do so very effectively.

I think mdma was previously used for marriage guidance amongst other things before it sort of disappeared… then Shulgin repopularised it and it changed an entire generation.
