In some dialects of Spanish “bebés” could both mean “you drink” and “babies”

That reminds me; what’s the deal with Swingers (1996) using “babies” interchangeably with “babes”. I guess they technically mean the same thing but one sounds a lot more
than the other and I’ve never heard it used anywhere else.I assumed it was an in-joke so I never googled.
