They don’t look like they’re shaded. They do look like butts however.

What’s going on with their hair? Looks like everyone is whereing the “hide those Vulcan ears” headband from Star Trek IV (the one with the whales).
My guess was “shiny hair reflecting light, in whatever the source photos were”, but it doesn’t quite look like that either.
