    “Voted them into power” might give a slightly wrong impression since they at most had slightly over a third of parliament, making them the largest single parliamentary body but definitely not a majority, and their actually seizing power hinged on Hitler being appointed by Hindenburg and then the whole emergency powers thing. My point in saying this is that while there were many, many overt German fascists, Nazi Germany only became what it was because of the liberals not actually opposing them, including the ones voted in nominally in opposition to them.
