Older Reddit was even better. Reddit circa 2014 I was organizing local singles nights and smashing it.
Eh maybe like 2012-2015
Exactly. OP prolly first experienced it during the digg exodus.
Justice for Aaron Swartz.
Less bad doesn’t mean good. That said, Steve Huffman was awfully jealous, where was he at the time?
Took a look a a home brewing sub the other day after many years. 1.4million subscribers, 2-4 posts per day. Guess the bot swarms overlooked it since no politics.
I didn’t remebrer Reddit being so toxic like 5 years ago
It’s now been overrun by lobbyists and bots
But, Thedonald, fatpeoplehate and similar subreddits were a thing
Ironically, the biggest idiots also got upset at the female CEO, and didn’t realize she was allowing their subs to be tolerated at the time.
But, I guess now those idiots have spread out, and basically turned the whole thing into crap which is no longer fun (like Facebook)
Is this to say it’s content is worse and thinner?
No, weightloss subs are booming
