Today’s game is some Twilight Princess. I went and got the Master Sword today. I have to say it’s probably one of my favorite Master Sword pulls. It’s still no Ocarina of Time (the soundtrack and ambience leading up to it just sells it for me) but it’s close. I didn’t really care for the little mini boss before it though. It was a lot less exciting.

After that I made my way over to the Arbiter’s grounds. It’s a very chill trip up there surprisingly. I was expecting something a little more action heavy but outside that desert part it was chill. I didn’t really care for that temple though leading up to it. I’m not sure what it was but it just felt like it was there to gate the Arbiter’s Grounds.

Also: fuck this puzzle in particular. Absolutely miserable. I hated it. Maybe I’m just tired but it felt like floundering about until I got the right combo.

Anyways, after this I’ll start the Arbiter’s Grounds puzzle. I’m hoping I’ll make quick work of this one and won’t put it off a bunch like the last one. We’ll see though.

The Arbiter’s Grounds has the most criminally underused item in the whole series. I don’t get why they’d make something so fun and didn’t think of more places to use it.

Budgets and lack of time can unfortunately harm quality a fair bit. It makes me think of the anime movie Your Name, which would have had a way better ending if his studio wasn’t strapped, Makoto Shinkai said; it wasn’t what he had wanted.

Well, at least it made a reappearance of need in Ganondorf’s castle, I suppose…

TP’s last third or so definitely feels a bit rushed. The more you progress, the shorter the inter-dungeon quests are, to the point the first time I went through the game I didn’t even realize I had already entered the last dungeon before getting through a few rooms.

That said, TP has a general item problem because the first dungeon item is also barely used through the game. But it’s just a rather basic boomerang with a wind gimmick, so I didn’t care much about that one.

Now that you point it out I notice what you mean. I can’t think of another time really I used the boomerang. It’s disappointing a little even if it’s forgettable

I liked TP well enough, but it’ll always be polluted by a game ending bug I encountered. After teleporting something large into a cave to enable you to enter a dungeon, but before activating it, if you save in that cave, you’ll be trapped in that cave with an NPC preventing you from leaving, forever. This is towards the end of the game iirc. I eventually started over, but, that really killed the vibe

Dang, I have no idea of what this is… I wonder if a speed runner may have been able to find a glitch to escape had you contacted the community about it… That must’ve sucked so badly. I could only imagine.

Looking this up, looks like there is a clip through a wall you can do to escape the soft lock, but this was back around release, so idk if it would have been found yet
