Damn, i wish i had known the Hidden Blade was an insta kill. It mentioned something about a “short blade” but i could never figure it out so i assumed there was a mechanic i missed. It must have been the hidden blade it was talking about

The combat was where i struggled the most, especially the segments where it throws you into combat with like 10 enemies. Towards the end there were like 3 of these sections back to back and it was tiring. I did like the story though. Altair especially gained a few points with me

I did eagle patch for 1, definitely planning that for AC 2 as well. I might not touch the parkour mods though. I tried cheat engine for 1 in an exercise to make a free cam (I wanted to make a psuedo photo mode for myself), but just couldn’t get it to launch.

I love sharing them! I figure at best i provide an interesting picture for people to stop and look at, so it’s reassuring in a way to know i’ve reached people in that way

It’s been awesome doing it! I honestly didn’t expect people to be so supportive of it, nor did i expect to be doing it 2 years later. I just kind of assumed at most i’d leave behind a digital footprint consisting of some mediocre screenshots. And then here i am nearly 2 years later and it’s evolved into full on pseudo-writeups

Everyday, I get a lot of free time (student) so it’s how I spend my time. Combine that with the interest i’ve always had in photography and archival, and these posts just kind of feed themselves

It’s always my go to for a base design. I know it’s basic but it 1) looks good to me and 2) feels super modular, so if i need another room i don’t need to worry about accommodating it. I just expand out. It’s super modular.

You’re all good, i don’t mind answering questions. Usually i’ll try to finish a game before moving onto the next one, occasionally though i’ll move on to the next one without finishing it. My Backlog usually ends up a mix of “I’m not going to play game x until i finish game y” and “I want to play this soon, just not now”

I haven’t! It reminds me a lot of Terraria’s Journey mode or whatever it’s called with the concept though

While I was playing AC1 I was going to myself “wow. This reminds me of Metal Gear Solid 3 with how it looks”. I remember that game also being the grey-brown color

I’ve seen rumors that they’re doing a remake of AC1 which might fix your graphics issues.

as much as I hope that is true… I’m not a fan of the new souls like combat and the new engine driving the Parkour. It feels off somehow. So hopefully I get proven wrong and they change it up.

I’m not a fan of most other shader effects either. They just seem way too “extra”. Like Instagram beauty filters for Minecraft. It’s more of a me thing and I won’t bash anyone that uses them. But I’m personally not a fan lol

Fair enough. It’s been hard trying to convince my friends to go back. Ironically the major thing bothering them is the lack of shaders (or the difficulty to set them up)

I actually was going to do a run with my friend the other day but for some reason my control doesn’t want to work with it lmao. I’m not sure what it is but i’m trying to debug so we can get a run going. we were talking about having a second cookout or something. Or maybe rolling into Louisville

I’m noticing a bit of that. A lot of the missions feel like “Go here, pickpocket a guy, beat up another guy, kill a guy” with very little plot exposition. It’s still cool but the story is fed between the cracks it feels like

My first was Black Flag. I dropped off at Syndicate. I tried Origins but just couldn’t get into it with the changes they made. Which is ironic, because i remember being young and really being excited for it to release

I’m really tempted. I may wait for a repack or something but i’d be lying if i wasn’t hyped about it and seriously considering it. I might promise myself if i get through AC1 i’ll allow myself to play through it. I own every other game on steam so i think i’ll get a discount through the bundle

The last one i fully cared about was Syndicate. Origins was just… bland to me, i refused to touch Odyssey because i don’t really care for ancient Greece aesthetic or mythos which is what it looked to be catering too, Valhalla was interesting but way too long and wasn’t really an AC game (at least as i wanted), and Shadows i liked the gameplay and opening/ending but the middle game essentially shit the bed because it was too ungodly long.
