The GE Profile All-in-One Washer/Dryer is objectively the worst home appliance I’ve ever use / owned.

It is absolutely not fit for a family with pets or more than 3 household members. It requires much more maintenance than both of our old machines put together. We’ve had to buy specialty tools & a mini-shop vac to keep it cleaned out & parts of it you still cannot reach without disassembly (which the owner can’t do with out voiding the warranty). We’ve had 6 repair visits in less than two years, and the drying sensor has now failed twice. They are refunding our purchase entirely. If we hadn’t purchased the extended warranty we’d be screwed and out $2500.

If you are considering one of these, stay away.

Okay, maybe that was too easy. Can you do a spacecraft that can land two people on the moon and get them back to orbit?

    Grumman: Done.

Oshkosh definitely is like “We’ll haul anything: Your missiles to the launcher, your tank to the front line, your garbage to the dump, your firefighting ass to the blaze, your concrete to the construction site, yo mama up and down, your broken down truck to the mechanic, your mail someday… and uh… no idea how that sports car got in the shot”

The LLV’s have only lasted this long because they had to. Just one of those features of not having a functional legislative branch for 50 years. There is a 6 billion dollar contract for them to be supplied with a new kind of vehicle, NGDVs, but the company behind them seems to be plagued by repeated delays and who knows if they will ever actually deliver all the vehicles that were ordered.

They were built to last 24 years (later extended to 30 years) that is about how long the mail jeeps from the 50’s lasted before being replaced with the LLV. As to why they have been delayed in replacements… seems oshkosh underestimate how long it’ll take to create a whole brand new production line from them and was ill prepared and the government too far invested to seek a new bidder.

Well, Republic Aviation actually originally made the A-10 - Northrop just inherited everything during the consolidation era of the late 80s and 90s.
