He’s so pathetic it’s almost farcical.

He’s so pathetic it’s almost farcical.

I think it’s irresponsible and reprehensible to ever stop trying

The Japanese do it cooler. They’ve got sun, moon, and their classical elements. This can be a fun little rabbit hole when trying to understand machine translated business documents

West Virginia surprised me, Wisconsin didn’t

Ok that would make for a good beer
Actually I’ve been thinking about trying brewing my own lately…

Yeah the article has one of the survivors acknowledge that

I agree but the esperantists will be annoyed by us choosing a different language

It’s less “learn how money works” and more “learn different ways society has been organized, which will enable you to imagine ways in which you can change it for the better”
But yeah he was a great author, highly recommend

See that’s what I love about Rome. They’re all lying and being catty bitches about it too

Exactly. If there were 30 greens in the house of Representatives and 10 green senators, suddenly they’d be able to actually push policies. And to get there they’d need to demonstrate electability in smaller elections.
I’m a fan of Nader, I’m sad he was never president. But if he couldn’t even come in second place in the best third party run since the whigs collapsed it’s time to stop focusing on the presidency and start trying something else.
That’s why my main advice to any woman seeking women is to make a move. Like, girl, you can’t just sit there looking pretty at a gay bar and hope to get a girl, most of the women there are already trying that to no luck.
That’s fair, I had sorts of folks I had to spend time around to get comfortable with too. I think a lot of people think that it’s necessary or easy to suddenly become comfortable with sorts of people who are marginalized. But what we should be doing is demanding people be moving towards a more equal and free society and not making their discomfort those people’s problem.
ETA: building comfort with those groups is also important, but it’s slow and it’s something we shouldn’t beat people up for not being quite at yet.

That’s part of why I like the symbol of the DDR. Sure hammers and compasses are outdated, but they’re easy symbols for labor still vital, and instead of a sickle there’s sheaths of wheat

That’s a compass (math kind not navigation kind) not a sextant. A sextant would be more likely to represent the mercantile class than knowledge workers. But yeah I love their symbol because it really shines as a symbol for German communism by including a tool associated with engineers.

Yeah, some people will need retraining, especially the managerial class. But for the most part, if my country had a peaceful and sudden communist revolution tomorrow, I’d be clocking in on Thursday with the same engineering job and asking what’s changing now that we’re under new management.

Furthermore liquid water at ambient conditions is needed by wildlife. Fish, amphibians, waterfowl, etc don’t like being in bath temperature water, and most plants and mammals don’t want to drink it.

Partly, but also because they’re chauvinistic about their religion and think Catholics aren’t Christian. Even at their best they practice sola scriptura and disagree with Catholics on interpretation, therefore they assume Catholics don’t actually understand the bible. Meanwhile Catholics look at them confused as to how anyone can read that thing, reject all context snd traditional interpretation, and come away believing every word is literally true and that they have an unerring understanding of it, much less without the graduate degree in the topic priests need.
0 I burned all my capacity for that by the end of college.
Back in high school and early in college I’d have at least one night a month where I was to anxious to sleep. Then engineering school got hard and I got sleepless nights to do schoolwork.
These days I’m visibly off if my wife has nightmares or I snored too much (she kicks me when I snore)
