This city-state just failed on me, I relied too much on food imports and the citizens rioted when I ran out of money.

Ah well.

Really fun game if you want to play Dwarf Fortress without having to learn how to play Dwarf Fortress.

I really like Songs of Syx. It feels like exactly the right level of detail for an immersive colony sim. Not too much micromanagement (RimWorld), but enough to let you get really specific on certain things if you want. Not too much optimization required (Factorio), but you can optimize as much as you want. You’re allowed to make things look interesting without sacrificing function. Plus the whole word map layer is pretty cool. A very unique game in a lot of ways.

I love that you can make blueprints of your buildings so that you can just paste them on the board instead of building everything from scratch every time. It feels like you gain a lot between runs. Highly recommended to the type of pervert that likes detailed simulation games.

Is it similar in other respects to DF, just not as impossibly and incomprehensibly massive and deep?

Is that a human sacrifice location in the middle of the screen? lol
