USB-C is a really bad connector for laptops to displays specifically. I feel like the port or the cable start to break way too soon because there’s nothing securing the cable. Bring back VGA screw in thingies. Thank you for your attention to this matter. 
I don’t know if it’s actually better, but the cables are supposed to be the weak point. At least that was the marketing of USBC over the previous versions that had stronger locking tabs/shapes. The idea is that the cheap cable breaks so the port or the motherboard it’s attached to don’t
